Saying that bubblegum glam punk is alive and kicking in 2024 would be a lie but sometimes you get a little sunshine in the darkness. Andreas knows what he’s talking and singing about since he used to be SUGAR SHOCK‘s flamboyant frontman and started Glitzine, the webzine that had a lot of influence on the one you’re reading now! This one man project has a strong comics influence and first started as a fictional band. “51st Time” is a great opener with its pop punk melodies and catchy vocal line. Andreas still has the best voice in this style and brings back sweet SUGAR SHOCK memories in “Candy Heart”, “Let’s Runaway” and in “Baby’s Got a Boyfriend.” If you’re familiar with bands like GLAMOUR PUNKS or HEART THROB MOB then you will love “Invisible Girl Power” or “I Don’t Want to Write Songs About Things I Don’t Want To Do.” On the CD version you’ll even get “He’s a Rebel”, a cool CRYSTALS cover.
