Some of you might remember Italian sleaze rockers CRACKHOUSE. It’s good to see that lead singer Kelly is back behind the mic with a bunch of guests including THEE S.T.P and LESTER GREENOWSKI members among others. Kelly’s voice sounds a bit rougher (in a Tyla way) now but his passion for dirty rock’n’roll is still intact. Just listen to “Going Nowhere” that sounds like a mix of The THROBS, ZODIAC MINDWARP, MOTÖRHEAD and FASTER PUSSYCAT with cool sax parts thrown in! Guitars sound heavier and more modern in “I Wanna Be Your Jagermeister” and sleaze rock is celebrated in “Trash ‘n’ Treasures” or in “A Head of My Time”. Kelly is a man of taste and you’ll hear this in his choice of covers “Not Anymore” (DEAD BOYS), “Last Bandit” (The DOGS D’AMOUR) and the darkish piano ballad “Fallen Star”(HANOI ROCKS.) Songs like “Rock’n’Roll Ending” get groovy (think ELECTRIC BOYS) while “I Don’t Need You Tonight” rocks to AC/DC guitars. This is the sleaze rock’n’roll album you need in 2024!/Laurent C.
