Formed in 2019, Colorado’s TONGUE ACTION is a high-energy collision of ’70s punk attitude, ’80s sleaze metal grit, and dangerous, no-nonsense rock ’n’ roll and you can hear that in opener “Kill City Riot” in which you’ll hear a bit of TURBONEGRO. “Hi-5” takes us back to the wild proto-punk days while “WTFDK” is a cool blend of Scandinavian rock and glam with a new wave touch. Speaking of glam rock, you’ll also hear sparkling 70s glitter rock with sax in “Raunch City Romp” and heavy rock with good hooks in “Emily Baby.” A song like “Shake, Rattle & Die” and its MISFITS-like backing vocals will stay in your head after listening to it once and “Oh Beast” has a sexy darkish Rocky Horror/T.REX vibe. The last song on here “Wild Nights/Wild Rose” ends this 8 song album in an epic way reminding of The WHO and confirms that we should definitely keep an eye and an ear on TONGUE ACTION! /Laurent C.
