Then, I became homebound as a caregiver when my kids were born and my grandmother needed care and became sadly stuck on Facebook watching in horror as I could see all my ex pals bragging about going to sports bars and finally fitting in with our rightwing hometown talk radio sports coaches and Rush Limbaugh parroting dittohead jock fuckwads. Mercifully, I got locked outta Facebook by the fascist techlord censorship machine years ago, because I refused to change my fundamental principles just cause a person of color was reading the teleprompter and doing the dirty work of demonic empire, a willing servant of the Honky Death Machine. I live in a basically deserted, old, weather faded town where all the old folks are sick and dying, it’s kinda bleak to see everybody we made friends with seven years ago arriving at the end, but you know, these boomers made it to their seventies at least, whereas, so many of my generation, good folks, peope ever so dear to me, just abruptly died for undisclosed reasons in their forties and fifties. It’s all so wearying.
Man, I’ve been having bad dreams of vivid horrors and primal panic. Dunno how all the tv people manage to stay so disassociated and unaffected. Under the gun where I am, all the people are cracking up under the heinous pressure of the superinflation and doubled rents. I’m so bummed out to see the once great Dr. Cornel West fall in line with the state department Russiagate talking points, ala Bernie sellout, providing cover for a dead nazi. Sheesh-how’d they manage to compromise him? He’s always been so inspirational to me. That’s why you can’t have heroes, you gotta cut your own path, follow your own little conscince-we are all frail and fallible and sometimes gullible or misled beings all capable of disappointing or fucking up, even summa our own elder statesmen like Dr. West. Man, I loved that guy for decades, what a bummer, I feel about him like Jimmy Dore does-just crushed. That was a sad loss for our movement, but as much as it pains me, it’s still not as bad as all the former associates who don’t give a fuck about Julian Assange, freedom of the press, free speech, censorship or Palestinian babies. Betrayal is worst from people you foolishly believed shared at least some of your non-negotiable core values. TV is a helluva drug. I saw one of those bogus award shows where the mockingbird media made the dead nazi look like Assange and Assange look like the nazi-Malcolm X warned us about the perilous power of media decades ago. Clooney once played Edward R. Murrow in a movie about McCarythism, before becoming just another imperial rich man, and his wife the so called human rights lawyer aint said shit about the actual horrific holocausts in Iraq, Libya, Yemen, the Congo and Palestine and persecution of actual journalists happening right now. That’s a personal one for me, cause Clooney’s from my real hometown, his parents knew my grandparents, his aunt was a childhood friend of my grandmother, and my wife used to wait on his folks at the winery on the river. Even people I love seem to be unravelling, becoming embarrassing parodies of their rightwing parents, it’s been so tough to helplessly behold. At some point, they all quit reading books and educating themselves and plugged into the mockingbird media.
Some good news is that I got to hear some unfinished demos for my exceptionally talented and unique comrade Rev. Paul S.
