I kinda had to distance myself from all the Thank Obamas and Okey-Dokes who continue acting like any of that shit is alrite or that it can’t happen here. It will get worse under Nikki Hayley who is batshit carzy or Trump who is also owned. No universal healthcare just cause Hillary Clinton says so-ya know? How many people do you know personally who keep spending stints on the street cause the landlords keep raising the rent but no corporation is raising the minimum wage? People on streets, man. Just like that old Queen song. It’s cold as fuck and I gotta go work outside today, putting old metal junk in dumpsters for property resell, lifting, carrying, getting real dirty all day, shit like that. I kinda dread it. Already made brunch for the kid, now I gotta do household chores until about 11 and then, it’s off to the saltmines. I aint heard from summa the loved ones in a long while now, though I did send out some cards to the kids and a couple of old friends, I think all my homies and I all prefer to hibernate during the holidays. The pressure is hard, particularly if you are a parent. You know it’s crazy when everybody you encounter is just regurgitating talking points from Pentagon Propaganda Media and no one seems to ever see through any of the bullshit commercialism and lies for genocide. Everything’s a motherfucking holocaust except an actual real life holocaust, ya know? Chickenshit consumers with their I Phones and shit. I still take comfort from all the old bands and songs from sweeter times. I miss record stores and dirty divebars and having enough money to travel and buy records and t shirts and imported rock magazines from the UK, but it’s been a mighty long time since I really done any of that, aint seen a live rock show in like twenty years. A local dude wants to bring his digital recording gear over and record some of my more recent songs, but I’m usually busy caregiving or laboring and kinda have a bad attitude about making original rocknroll in the ruthless age of capitalism, brand building, vanity merch., and plaigirism. Ya know? It’s all sorta pointless now, aint it? The music biz was weaponized long ago as a tool of social control and a pastime for the super rich. I’ll tell ya though, whenever I see live video of Marc Almond and Neal X or the Damned, even old Billy Idol and Steve Stevens, it does sorta make me miss being onstage, even if it’s only an old school punk rock rent a keg basement freakout. I’m kinda excited about hearing new music from Brother Wayne Kramer, ya know I met him years and years ago and we got along real well. I love a lot of his solo albums, especially the ones where he really digs in and writes excellent lyrics. I prefer his old school Chuck Berry side to his more aggressive Rage Against The Machine heavy metal type stuff, but yeah, ya know, you can’t go wrong with Wayne Kramer. I like when he sings but he also digs up these excellent frontmen and I do still prefer a frontman up there doing tricks with the microphone and James Brown splits and getting in the crowd’s faces singing his heart out. If my luck ever changes and these crazy fucks don’t blow up the world first, I might wanna do it again myself before I die, but man, rocknroll really is worse than a loser’s game at this point, it’s like a gauntlet of pay to play and backstabbing and capitalist me show competition and who really wants to get involved with any of those loathsome money grubbing yuppies who run the bars and nightclubs nowadays? For me it’s punk rock or nothing, ya know? I look at all the stuff I collected and try to find shit with resell value cause we are poor as fuck but it’s a stone drag, getting rid of all your favorite stuff, ya know? So I hope you all survive the coming tribulations impacting us all and I salute all the brave folks who go out in public everyday and make a loud stand for human rights and against ethnic cleansing, mass muder and balls out grotesque racism.
