LOS PEPES have been around for more than 10 years playing their punked up power pop anywhere they can. “Out Of The Void” is the 6th album of the band and the first single “Thoughtless Boys” showed us that the band still has a lot of energy and catchy choruses to offer us. “Molly Coddle” brings The EXPLODING HEARTS to mind while “New Christians” has something to it reminding a bit of The JAM. You’ll get some sunny, almost surf rock melodies in “Paradise”, some excellent candy power pop with “Sweet Appeasement” and “All I Got Is Time”, some old-school garage rock (‘Tomorrow and Today”) as well as some glammy punk rock with “Foreign Bodies” and even 80s hard rock touches in “Above And Beyond.” If you liked the most furious songs on the previous albums then you’ll probably enjoy “Short Term Solutions” and if you’ve never listened to LOS PEPES before then just try “Undercover”! Another good album from one of the best high-energy power pop bands around! /Laurent C.
