Switzerland’s trash rock duo WOLFWOLF is back with a fourth album under their arm. “Heidi is Alive” offers us some fine horror garage rock with a psyche touch while “The Falcon” brings a bit of modern psychobilly to the dark party. The vintage touch can especially be heard in “Holy Water”, “Vampire Love” and in “The Devil Knows” while “Lost”, “Ghost of Bran” and “It’s Hot In Hell” takes us to horror movie lansdscapes somewhere between The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Rob Zombie films. WOLFWOLF can also sound contemporary rock in songs like “My Imaginary Friend” or in the electro-punk “Twenty-One” and the cyber rock’n’roll “Heavy Sick.” The album ends on a slow creepy note with the darkwavish “Slaves of The Universe.” This new album is described as a tapestry of sonic storytelling and this is definitely what you feel when listening to it. /Laurent C.
