The manager was pissed off cause she has no help, one person is monitoring the whole store via cameras in an office and there’s is nobody on the floor. The corporation understaffs the place to maximize shareholder profit and apparently, the new CEO decided to close all the self checkouts, cause they say the desperate local poor people were stealing, I watched a homeless dude go through all the donations left outside of the closed thrift store the other day, that’s just how it is now, nobody has nothin’ except for the trains on time people and tourist trap gentrification owners, so we are in a long line waiting to buy a couple things and I’m looking at the stress on the manager’s face and begrudgingly feeling for her while she is being berated by the obnoxious middle class asshole lady who is shrieking about her property and don’t you know who I am self importance and I’m thinking about basically everybody I grew up with and their gratuitous white Barbie World entitlement and even the cop eventually sides with the managers cause you know, corporate hierarchy trumps I went to college and married up deamands to speak to the district supervisor. It is madness, the whole world I am surrounded by.
