Me and the black pleather all night hedonist, motorcycle crashing, rhythm guitar player have both managed to double our life expectancies while somehow also avoiding any kinda real recordings of our debaucherous maximum torch and twang, cowpunk goth and Australian bluespunk influenced, savage protest anthems, but we aint dead yet, so…ya never know! I dunno what’s gonna happen next-friends and loved ones keep falling ill, all the good people seem to be having health struggles, the majority of us are really suffering due to the modern day ripoffs and desperate ratwheel attempts to stay housed with all the jackedup rents and shit, while the gotta catch ’em all propertarian collector consumerists kinda block our entry into their pay to play platforms, but who cares really, we’ve been outcasts all our lives, outside of society, they’re waitin’ for me…stay strong, all my brothers and sisters and friends of the revolution. He was one of my first bassplayers and got me into Dogs D’Amour, Rock City Angels, Mother Love Bone. We even met summa those guys together. We used to stay up all night drinking and singing and writing songs-mostly I wrote the words and he’s help brighten up my melodies-we were both obsessed with Duran Duran, Prince, and Inxs. Especially their early stuff. He was the local heart throb DJ at the hometown 80’s nightclub. His preppie golf buddies were always shocked and appalled by my punk rockness but Bobby never cared, he was a loyal motherfucker. Before I met him, he was in a Duran tribute band as Andy Taylor, but everybody in that fanatically conservative, rah rah Reaganite old shit ville said he looked like Michael Hutchence and girls used to follow him around in packs, I’m not exaggerating. He used to drive me all over the country to see bands like Circus Of Power and Iggy Pop. We probably saw Duran Duran five or six times together. I always thought he’d be here at the campfire singin’ our lonesome cowboy songs with me, in my old age, but he’s gone. I miss him everyday. He recorded a really amazing version of Terrence Trent D’Arby’s “She Kissed Me” and was always playing me demos he was working on over the phone. Last time I saw him was at the Cheater Slicks house over twenty years ago and we were always saying we were gonna reunite. I can’t believe none of his orginals have washed up on the youtubes, he was a major talent with mainstream potential as a kid-his favorite band was Howlin’ Maggie.
