General Labor Rants On EAT EM & SMILE Reunion, Censorship, Propaganda, and the Triumphant Return Of Paul Black & Jo Dog!

“Twitter and other Silicon Valley corporations are becoming more and more brazen in their political censorship of independent news outlets.” (-Ben Norton)

“The purpose of Homeland Security agents is to propagandize and deceive, not enlighten and inform.

From the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the Biden White House has repeatedly announced large and seemingly random amounts of money that it intends to send to fuel the war in Ukraine. The latest such dispatch of large amounts of U.S. funds, pursuant to an initial $3.5 billion fund authorized by Congress early on, was announced on Friday; “Biden says U.S. will send $1.3 billion in additional military and economic support to Ukraine,” read the CNBC headline. This was preceded by a series of new lavish spending packages for the war, unveiled every two to three weeks, starting on the third day of the war:

  • Feb. 26: “Biden approves $350 million in military aid for Ukraine”: Reuters;
  • Mar. 16: “Biden announces $800 million in military aid for Ukraine:” The New York Times;
  • Mar. 30: “Ukraine to receive additional $500 million in aid from U.S., Biden announces”: NBC News;
  • Apr. 12: “U.S. to announce $750 million more in weapons for Ukraine, officials say.” Reuters;
  • May 6: “Biden announces new $150 million weapons package for Ukraine”: Reuters.

Those amounts by themselves are in excess of $3 billion; by the end of April, the total U.S. expenditure on the war in Ukraine was close to $14 billion, drawn from the additional $13.5 billion Congress authorized in mid-March. While some of that is earmarked for economic and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine, most of it will go into the coffers of the weapons industry — including Raytheon, on whose Board of Directors the current Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, sat immediately before being chosen by Biden to run the Pentagon. As CNN put it: “about $6.5 billion, roughly half of the aid package, will go to the US Department of Defense so it can deploy troops to the region and send defense equipment to Ukraine.”

As enormous as those sums already are, they were dwarfed by the Biden administration’s announcement on April 28 that it “is asking Congress for $33 billion in funding to respond to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than double the $14 billion in support authorized so far.” The White House itself acknowledges that the vast majority of that new spending package will go to the purchase of weaponry and other military assets: “$20.4 billion in additional security and military assistance for Ukraine and for U.S. efforts to strengthen European security in cooperation with our NATO allies and other partners in the region.”

It is difficult to put into context how enormous these expenditures are — particularly since the war is only ten weeks old, and U.S. officials predict/hope that this war will last not months but years. That ensures that the ultimate amounts will be significantly higher still.

The amounts allocated thus far — the new Biden request of $33 billion combined with the $14 billion already spent — already exceed the average annual amount the U.S. spent for its own war in Afghanistan ($46 billion). In the twenty-year U.S. war in Afghanistan which ended just eight months ago, there was at least some pretense of a self-defense rationale given the claim that the Taliban had harbored Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda at the time of the 9/11 attack. Now the U.S. will spend more than that annual average after just ten weeks of a war in Ukraine that nobody claims has any remote connection to American self-defense.

Even more amazingly, the total amount spent by the U.S. on the Russia/Ukraine war in less than three months is close to the Russia’s total military budget for the entire year ($65.9 million). While Washington depicts Russia as some sort of grave and existential menace to the U.S., the reality is that the U.S. spends more than ten times on its military what Russia spends on its military each year; indeed, the U.S. spends three times more than the second-highest military spender, China, and more than the next twelve countries combined.

But as gargantuan as Biden’s already-spent and newly requested sums are — for a ten-week war in which the U.S. claims not to be a belligerent — it was apparently woefully inadequate in the eyes of the bipartisan establishment in Congress, who is ostensibly elected to serve the needs and interests of American citizens, not Ukrainians. Leaders of both parties instantly decreed that Biden’s $33 billion request was not enough. They thus raised it to $40 billion — a more than 20% increase over the White House’s request — and are now working together to create an accelerated procedure to ensure immediate passage and disbursement of these weapons and funds to the war zone in Ukraine.”  (-Glenn Greenwald)

“Censorship is the last resort of desperate and unpopular regimes. It magically appears to make a crisis go away. It comforts the powerful with the narrative they want to hear, one fed back to them by courtiers in the media, government agencies, think tanks, and academia.” ( – Chris Hedges)

“Capitalists are ripping public off left & right with artificially inflated food & gas prices with no response from democrats. And with billions going to the defense industry, the Biden war is paying off nicely. But hey, war has always been good for legitimation crisis & profits.” (-Ajamu Baraka)

“The wall between the intelligence community and law enforcement is gone.

Every member of Congress has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution, yet by repeated majority votes and the signatures of all pre-Biden presidents since 2008 continually reenacting Section 702, Congress has permitted the FBI to bypass the Constitution. Thus, FBI spying is lawful because a statute authorizes it, but unconstitutional because the statute violates the Fourth Amendment.

Last week, the Director of National Intelligence, who is required by Section 702 to report all FBI access to the raw intelligence data, did so. But her record keeping is as sloppy as her fidelity to the Constitution. Thus, she reported 3.4 million FBI searches of raw intelligence data on Americans in 2021.

You’d think that meant that 3.4 million Americans had their emails, text messages, phone calls, medical and legal and personal records surveilled by the FBI. You’d be incorrect. To the feds, the word “search” refers to the input of a search term, like “Jan. 6” or “local militia” or “small government.” One FBI search thus can lead to the records of thousands of Americans.

It is hard to believe that senior management of the CIA, NSA and FBI can perpetuate these egregious constitutional violations with straight faces. But they do. And Congress permits it. Why? Because the CIA, NSA, FBI and their collaborators have dirt on members of Congress. Dirt.

The federal government is rotten to the core. Its officers and employees don’t believe that the Constitution means what it says. They will lie, cheat, threaten, bribe and steal to cut constitutional corners and remain in power.

The Fourth Amendment was written to protect the quintessentially American right to privacy. It is a critical part of the structure of the Bill of Rights.

Rather, it was.

Today, in America, we have no rights. A right is an indefeasible claim against the whole world – to think as you wish, to say and publish what you think, to worship or not, to defend yourself, to experience your life and exercise your liberty and use your property without a government permission slip, and to be left alone.

The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, yet the rights it facially protects are now subject to government approval. The Bill of Rights is really a Bill of Temporary Privileges.”

(-Andrew P. Napolitano, a former judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey)

Daniel Hale, who currently resides in a federal penitentiary, stole and shared classified documents which confirmed, as other operators and analysts had already reported, that the exceptionally “low” rate of mistakes acknowledged publicly by the Obama administration was a result of the fact that the military-age males destroyed were defined as Enemy Killed in Action (EKIA). Any target eliminated was simply assumed to be guilty until proven innocent. This slick schema maximized the tally of “dead terrorists” reported to the populace while minimizing the possibility of any significant debate in the public sphere about the practice of so-called smart war. By inverting the burden of proof, the killers effectively (and absurdly) denied the very possibility of erroneously identifying as a terrorist any suspect in the specified age and gender cohort, most of whom, it is worth pointing out, have been persons of color. In “crowd killing” and signature strikes of entire groups of persons of unknown identity based on an assumed guilt by association, the targets executed were arguably victims of racial profiling.

Surely if more citizens understood the inherent evil being perpetrated with their tax dollars, there would be more pushback against the summary execution of suspects using lethal drones. But government-produced and mainstream media-promulgated disinformation have effectively squelched debate on the practice of remote-control killing and muted the voices of whistleblowers. Throughout the Global War on Terror, the major Western media outlets served as the functional equivalent of a Ministry of Propaganda in the tentacular military-industrial-congressional-media-academic-pharmaceutical-logistics banking complex. It should come as little surprise, then, that the drone program whistleblowers have been, at best, ignored and, at worst, discredited and criminalized.

Ominously, the Biden administration has announced the creation of a Disinformation Governance Board, to be headed up by Nina Jankowicz, a former adviser to the Ukrainian government and supporter of the current proxy war in Ukraine against Russia. Should this initiative succeed—it looks to be a violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution—we can look forward to even more suppression of dissent from pro-military narratives, which has always been depicted as conspiratorial misinformation or disinformation. This move will propel the killing machine forward as the perspectives of people on the ground and whistleblowers who attempt to reveal to taxpayers the truth and to warn future recruits about what they are being hoodwinked into doing are systematically erased. With the ongoing persecution of Julian Assange, the most effective transmitter of antiwar narratives in the first part of the twenty-first century, we are moving closer and closer to the point where what once was a democratic republic will be no more and no less than a dictatorial military state.

Critics on the right have identified the Biden administration’s formal erection of the functional equivalent of a Ministry of Truth as politically motivated, intended to provide the current office holders with the power to silence opposition to any and all official narratives. Given the reality of the war party duopoly, however, the gravest danger posed by a Disinformation Governance Board (or Ministry of Truth), to people the world over, will be its facilitation and support of the U.S. government’s hegemonic military interventions whenever and wherever the administrators please, and whoever they happen to be.

Should the elimination of citizens’ right to free speech by the government proceed, backed up by the threat of punishment, then no dissenter anywhere will be able to challenge official narratives without risking the fate suffered by U.S. citizen Anwar al-Awlaki. A formerly moderate Muslim cleric who spoke out publicly against the crimes of September 11, 2001, al-Awlaki was executed in 2011 without indictment or trial, having been put on the drone killers’ hit list when he began speaking out against the U.S. government’s own war crimes.” (-Laurie Calhoun)

A hostile military alliance expanding to Russia’s borders isn’t a provocation, sending weapons to be used by CIA-trained fighters backed by US intelligence isn’t a proxy war, those Nazis aren’t Nazis, you’re being censored for your own good, trust the media, the government is your friend.

It’s a good thing Trump lost because otherwise Roe v Wade would be on the chopping block and immigrants would still be getting mistreated and the Iran deal would still be dead and the military budget would keep inflating. That bastard would probably have us on the brink of World War 3 by now.

Joe Biden doing a live infomercial for Javelin missiles while everyone who voted for him worries about women’s reproductive rights is the most Joe Biden thing that has ever happened.

Once you see that both mainstream US parties are part of a single oligarchic power structure it stops looking like a battle between opposing parties and looks more like one giant bully standing in front of voters saying “Let me hit you with my left fist or I’ll hit you with my right.”

What is the correct response when that happens? What’s the correct response when a mainstream political party keeps communicating that they’ll never do anything to help you but you need to support them anyway or they’ll let their friends in the other mainstream political party take away your rights? Is it to say “Ah well the left fist won’t hurt as much so that’s clearly the lesser evil,” or is it to take on an oppositional relationship with the tyrant who keeps punching you with both fists year after year?

Learning about what’s wrong with the world is like watching a marathon of shitty Scooby Doo episodes from the sixties, except it’s way more repetitive and predictable, and the villain under the mask is always the US empire.

Western media keep shrieking about Russia’s nuclear threats as though it was some kind of secret that Russia will use nukes if it feels its existence is threatened, and as though western powers wouldn’t nuke Russia for the same reason.

This is the American way of life the US government spends so much effort starting wars and toppling governments to

— Caitlin Johnstone  (@caitoz) May 1, 2022

The only argument against the observation that the US/NATO/Ukraine power structure could easily have prevented this war with a few low-cost diplomatic concessions is “Actually Putin would have invaded anyway because he’s a cartoon supervillain who does evil things for no reason.”

War is all the worst things that can happen to a person multiplied by the population you target. When you refuse diplomacy, you are condemning whole cities to unimaginable suffering.

Nobody actually believes “tankies” are dangerous, some people just have a deep psychological need for the US empire’s fiercest critics to be wrong because it’s more comfortable than considering the possibility that everything you’ve been taught about the world is a lie.

There’s a lot in the news right now but none of it is as important as the fact that we’re being shoved toward nuclear war for no good reason by a few idiots who want to rule the world.

Again, the real risk of nuclear war is not that any side will deliberately start one but that the explicit agreement in “Mutually Assured Destruction” will be set into motion by a nuke being deployed by accident, miscommunication, miscalculation or malfunction as things escalate. During the last cold war such accidental nuclear exchanges came all too close to happening multiple times. The more tense the nuclear standoff gets, the greater the likelihood of such an event occurring:

We survived the last cold war not by skill or by competence, but by sheer dumb luck. There’s no logical reason to assume we’ll get lucky again.

So yeah, just so we’re clear, the US empire is rapidly restructuring the systems people look to for information about the world in order to ensure iron-fisted control over our dominant narratives while it scrambles to subvert its rivals in cold war maneuverings and secure unipolar planetary hegemony.

The primary purpose of expanding censorship and propaganda on subjects like Ukraine, Russia, Covid, extremism etc is not to control the narrative about those subjects specifically, but to expand and normalize censorship and propaganda. Narrative control is an end in itself, and it’s the absolute highest priority because all the empire’s power is built upon it.

Few seem to understand that the oligarchic empire seeks narrative control as an end in itself. They’re not always necessarily increasing censorship and propaganda about a given topic because of that topic; it’s often mainly because they want to normalize and expand censorship and propaganda. Certainly there are narratives right here and now that the empire would rather we believe, but that’s of secondary strategic importance to ensuring ongoing and continually expanding control over all narratives around the world into the future.

Not all powerful people support the same narratives, but all powerful people seek narrative control. Narrative control is power. Any manipulator understands this, from the most powerful oligarchs right down to the narcissistic gossip queen at the office.

Any manipulator of any level spends an extraordinary amount of energy working to dominate the stories people tell about them and about others. This is because they know humans are storytelling creatures, and if you can control the stories they tell, you control the humans. This is most especially true of the globe-spanning power structure loosely centralized around the United States; its narrative control via corporate news media, Hollywood and Silicon Valley is completely unparalleled and historically unprecedented.

Censorship, propaganda, and Silicon Valley algorithm manipulation are just different aspects of narrative control. Nobody does this as well as the US-centralized empire and its managers. Nobody ever has.” (-Caitlyn Johnstone)

“The U.S. is rife with propaganda emanating from the state and corporate media. What truths do Americans recognize and expose? Sadly, too many of them believe that their nation is superior to Russia while knowing very little about that country or how living standards there compare to theirs. Do Russian police kill three people every day? Do Russians have medical debt? Are they consigned to lifetime debt peonage after attending university? Military spending in their country is a fraction , less than 10%, of what the U.S. spends. Despite all the stories of Russian atrocities and human rights violations it is the U.S. which invaded and occupied Iraq and Afghanistan, destroyed Libya in a proxy war, and now is helping its ally Saudi Arabia practice a genocide in Yemen.

We cannot separate the treatment of the marginalized from the foundational inequities present in this country.

Remember when they were supposed to have a surprise reunion of the world renowned David Lee Roth “Eat ‘Em & Smile” band, but the club filled up with too many people and the fire marshal came and shut the whole place down and for no good reason, it was sadly never rescheduled or booked for Roth’s Covid cancelled Vegas farewell shows? I mean, I don’t get it. We’d all still love him to reunite the Eat ‘Em & Smile band. Eddie’s no longer with us, Alex does not seem to like Michael Anthony, and understandably does not wanna get involved with that Jimmy Buffet mook, Spammy Hagar. Now, there is all this outlandishly inappropriate yakking about the former Metallica bassist, Jason Newsted and Chickenfoot’s spacey deedler, Joe Satriani, doing some kind tribute show, but I just wanna go on the record here, stating that my preference would be #1) seeing Alex, Michael Anthony, Roth, and Steve Vai play a tribute concert or tour, certainly not fuckin ex Metallica Whatsisname or over soloing bizzy beaver guitar teacher Chickenfoot Satriani.

#2) same lineup with John 5 on guitar, but you know, in spite of Dave’s high hopes of Alex joining him for some mighty farewell shows in Vegas, I just don’t think Alex wants to do any cheap bullshit thing that dishonors Edward in any way and he prefers living in seclusion, which you know, I can totally understand. The media, the music industry, it’s all evil and not in any kinda cool way, and basically, murderous, controlled, and fake as fuck.

#3) a full on Yankee Rose era reunion of Vai, Sheehan, and Bissonette with Diamond Dave, but he sez he’s retired. We Van Halen diehards are legion and really wish Dave would release the rest of the record he made with John 5. For me, “Low Rez Sunset” was the song of the year. John 5 sez they got another song called “Nothing Could Have Stopped Us” that is one of the best songs he’s ever heard. I never understood why he did not continue to write with the Eat ‘Em & Smile lineup cause, they had hits, ya know and underrated deep tracks like “Big Trouble” and “Ladies Night In Buffalo”. “Damn Good” is one of the best songs our Diamond one ever sang, makes me miss my own ex punk rock and heavy metal ruffian former little rascals. When I do roll call here at the Honeycomb Hideout these days, I have to mark almost everyone absent in the flesh. I love DLR. Diamonds Are Forever! Come back baby, rocknroll never forgets!

Wow, I was just looking through some old keepsakes of long gone yesterdays in my boxes and milk crates and remembering the day when my old bassist and beat travelling road dog crosscountry singing companion, Cowboy Bobby Cloyd first brought home a copy of Dogs D’Amour‘s “In The Dynamite Jet Saloon” “on putrid green vinyl” to me and our other leather jacketed cronies up at my purple apartment that burned down a couple years ago, and we were all just mad for it. He used to get these cool promos from his job at an uptight chain record store in the mall where the Cheap Trick ladies would never give me a job because of my smalltown bad reputation. He got us all into so much good music and I kept holding on to the dream of reuniting with the brother to rekindle our creative spark and record some new music but he sadly passed away under mysterious circumstances last year. I’ve written a lot about our adventures together in my unpublished memoirs including the times when we met Dogs D’Amour and Mother Love Bone and Duran Duran and stuff, he is also in many of my own song lyrics, man oh man, did I ever love that good brother. We would empty many, many bottles on my old couch salvaged from some second hand source and stay up until the dawn’s early light howling along to the Dogs D’Amour‘s “How Come It Never Rains”, and reading all the hand scrawled lyrics and admiring Tyla’s artwork, and looking at ourselves in an old pink flamingo mirror in our matching cowboy ties and bolero hats, dreaming about finding other guys to join our band.

My guitar player with the black mohawk and I picked up a cut-out bin copy of “Keeping Up With The Joneses” by THE JONESES at Magnolia Thunderpussy record store at one of our twice a year roadtrips to the big city with our depressed goth keyboardist friend in the long gray trench coat and the Skinny Puppy obsessed kid who left our gang when he met an Indiana goth girl to become a gravedigger, and “She’s So Filthy” was briefly added to our repertoire of cover songs. For years, everybody on the Sunset Strip endeavored to imitate the Dogs D’Amour and Joneses, I met apartments overflowing with black haired glam-metal dudes who only had part time phone sex jobs and drank all day hoping to become the next big Dogsy Glamour Punks. Most of us rocknroll casualties had no idea how the music biz really worked back then, we did not know it was a pay to play pyramid scheme or anything about ripoff publishing deals, or how you had to know some insider sleazy manager to get a record deal with a major label that was just gonna sign 100 bands and only promote two and only make money offa one. It all got much worse during the major label consolidation that killed all the underground labels that used to sign unknown garage bands. Even in rightwing midwestern college towns, you had to be a rich person who attended a certain private school and have funding from family to really even participate in the tightly controlled fake indie, post-grunge, ever tightening muzak-biz. People whose parents owned nightclubs or publishing companies would just milk no name people for songs and ideas. I used to hear about Motley Crue lurking around the scuzzy rehearsal rooms ripping off names, titles, lyrics, styles from lesser known artists. If you were a Motorcycle Boy fan, you recognized how Sixx stole Francois’ whole look for that “Dr. Feelgood” music video. This goes on everywhere, I guess. Well connected haves stealing copyrights, publishing, songs, and imagery from nobody street punks, that’s just the way it’s always been since the birth of recorded music. All the bluesmen originators got ripped off and oftentimes even forgotten, died in the gutter, complete unknowns. Paul Anka and Harry Styles get trotted out to replace people who are saying anything provocative or meaningful. The Dogs D’Amour were so important to my generation of jetboys and jetgirls, we all copied their look and covered their tunes. Me and my lot, we did, “Heroine”, “She Thinks Too Much Of Me”, “Wait Until I’m Dead” and “Last Bandit”, probably another one I can’t think of right now. We were gonzo for the Dogs D’amOur!  Times changed, and the corporations started merging into one big media monopoly, so all the cool rocknroll was forced off the airwaves and replaced with moaning, wounded beagle, depressing grunge bullshit and then cornyass boyband commercial pop/punk garbage, and now techno-sell your soul-slutty-robot-fake pop and endless fifties DC comics style war propaganda punishingly eminating from every platform, around the clock, but about twenty three years ago, I discovered that first Jo Dog and Paul black album with “Sippin’ Away” on it and that song was so good, so heartfelt and dreamy, like Rod and the Faces! I was with a beautiful woman from outta my class back then, trying not to drink, doing A.A., working as a blue collar laborer on a five thirty in the morning Sherwin Williams parking lot paint crew of mostly Spanish speaking immigrants being underpaid under the table, it sucked so bad, that whole era of my life, ruined my knees and spent years either selling off all my books and records to keep the lights on, or walking around in the snow with a black eye, but the “Sonic Boom” album was always a consoling and uplifting soundtrack that could always brighten my flagging spirit in that suckass AlternativeTM era. I told all my friends about it and wrote about it with great enthusiasm for the national punk mag I used to write for, but they remained an obscure cult band, and Jo Dog went on to alot of other stuff including a shortlived Dogs reunion , Shooting Gallery, Borracho-a project with David Roach from Junkyard, and the Desperadoes. I did the usual pleading for a promo copy of the new disc starting several years back when I was consulting with Paul Black about my relocation plans to the Joshua Tree desert highlands. I have thusfar not succeeded at getting my arthritic old hands on a copy of his special record store release , ‘Everybody Rains On My Parade’ 180gm red vinyl edition, but

You can get a copy from a participating indie record shop near you.  JO DOG is one of rocknroll’s top shelf legendary guitar virtuosos and his solo performances got many of us glam kids through the death plague quarantine years. Paul Black, legendary original vocalist for L.A. Guns, leader of Black Cherry, and drummer of the Joneses is remarkably talented, a good songwriter, with a fine voice. You can’t go wrong with those cats.

In a time when all major media are liars promoting war, it’s probably a high compliment to be locked out of social media, or photo-shopped outta history by the godless winner take all, gravy train, huckster, grifter, confidence peddling vampires. If you were of their world, they would love you. If the got-mines and their fanclubs pour hatred upon your good name like they do Ralph Nader, Susan Sarandon, Jill Stein, Julian Assange, or any authentic, old fashioned, we mean it, maan advocates for coolness, realness, or soulfulness and truth, that’s validation. Be fearful when they wanna buy your merchandise and invite you to Sunday Brunch. Twain taught us to take a moment to reflect whenever we find ourselves somehow among the mad, obedient herd. Like Bukowski said, they are always wrong. RUN the other way! Mintpress, Gray Zone,, Russia Today which was shutdown entirely, these are some of the best homes to independent writing in the country and they are being attacked by techlords for violating their imperialist community standards. Mintpress is home to such stalwart real progressives as Chris Hedges and Daniel Kovalik, who wrote the book, “The Plot To Overthrow Venezuela: How The U.S. Is Orchestrating a Coup For Oil”. He teaches at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law. Mark Crispin Miller is a professor of media, culture, and communications at NYU and an expert on propaganda. These are the sort of voices being erased by controlled media. “Those who change history are always rejected in their own era”-  James Lee Burke.

It ain’t just the billionaire overlords, big pharma, big insurance, private prison shareholders, and police state sympathizers who gaslight us, now, greed and bullshit wannabe barking belligerent bossman behaviors are all that ever trickled down from the Wall Street swells who piss on us peasants from the towers- nowadays it’s gotten so brainwashed crazy/dystopian that oftentimes it’s even our own former peers we grew up with who started wearing the blue and brown and working for the clampdown-they’ll all cheerfully lie straight to your face while sabotaging you from behind the scenes, all ’cause, to most “winning” capitalists raised in USA, USA, it’s all just a ratrace til the bitter end, and the haves on the hill seem pretty determined that they CAN take it with ’em. I got former associates who never, never really give a flying fuck when another one of our school friends turns up dead, but they can get real worked up over blue screened war propaganda or made for tv manufactured scandals like Will Smith or Amber Heard or Capital Hill Maga protests. I’m more affected by like, the sad deaths of Nick Cave and Sinead O’Connor ‘s children’s than I am by any bullshit I see on unreality tv where ALL the news is fake. I live in one of those hopelessly dried-up, end of the road, remote desert ghost towns where the people are all so poor you rarely see them, they’re mostly all shut-ins, tucked away in little boxes, they only come out like, four times a year. Today was one of those days where they have a parade for the town-every firetruck, police car, ambulance, big city operator/promotor/fast talkin’ business owner with some false bill of goods to sell, the school marching band, every local politician in a slick vintage convertible, the hardware store and tourist trap brewery have promotional floats, some crazy ladies with freaky umbrellas and oversized sunhats with their always leash less double pitbull protectors, all the sunburnt motorcyclists from the outskirts of town, the many retiree Maga ranchers with the offroad vehicles or golf carts, and more farmers, ranchers, Qanons with “Don’t Tread On Me” flags and a whole entire booth of Anti-Biden t shirts-if I had any money I mighta purchased the one that said, “I Violate Community Standards”, tis beyond peculiar when ya have any common agreements with militia gun nut types in pro cop “Punisher” logos, Future Farmers and ROTC groups, all love a man in a uniform, “thank you for your service”, military families pulling hitches with state flags and the star spangled banner and even a few random shit-lib CNN Ukraine flag waving, horn honking virtue signalers, on the back. Saucedup business owners carrying big gulps spiked with booze, the worst smalltown country band I ever saw and you know I spent a considerable amount of time in a couple of obscenely violent towns in Ohio well known for their horrible fucking suckshit, no soul bands. If I was to form a band, where I live now, it would have to be with some of the mediocre country music people. No drummers in a three hour radius. On my way home from the Big Event, fleeing the depressing, sad crowds and sky rocketing heat, I heard a sudden stomping, loudly echoing, noise loudly thundering that scared the piss outta me, it was an overheating horse who is waiting in his trailer for some cop with a flag to ride him down Main Street like an hour from now, pounding his hoof. I think he needs some water. All the people in tank tops and shorts you never see outside their deteriorating trailers behind big, rusting, silver metal fences are lined up on both sides of the street, all the babies, kids, and dogs, all the elders on the sidewalk in lawnchairs. Everybody seems poor, almost no one has teeth. That’s become a real sticking point for me this year-how Jimmy Dore and Susan Sarandon were absolutely right about how these diabolically shameless, lying and corrupt, fake liberal politicians like Hillary Clinton and AOC always help their donor class paymasters undermine free dental for dirt poor folks. “There will never be free healthcare in Amerikkka” says the Libya overthrowing, imperialist gloating, ghouslish former Secretary Of State who manufactured the whole Russia-gate fiction. Libya had free healthcare. I really wanna keep my teeth, ya know? Gonna cost thousands that I do not have. Fake politicians like AOC and sanders filled stadiums with the platform of providing free healthcare including optical and dental to all of us, but private plane Pelosi told the fraud squad to shatup and sit down and help fund more imperialist forever wars based on lies and they all got in line. Seven thousand to save three teeth, man. AOC does not believe lowly dishwashers deserve to keep our teeth-especially if we are anti-war. The whole rigged sham is a blue screened, teleprompter puppet show and no millionaires or billionaires are coming to our rescue. If I had thousands, I would have recorded my music a long time ago and you might be reading somebody else writing about rocknroll here rather than me cause I’d be somewhere playing out. Maybe be able to afford real healthcare, like all those elitist office pro, suckshit, upperclass propertarian, white liberal Hillary supporters. The crooked police state is bipartisan, in service to evil billionaires.

“Whatever else is true, the claim with which we are bombarded by the corporate press — the two parties agree on nothing; they are constantly at each other’s throats; they have radically different views of the world — is patently untrue, at least when it comes time for the U.S. to join in new wars. Typically, what we see in such situations is what we are seeing now: the establishment wings of both parties are in complete lockstep unity, always breathlessly supporting the new proposed U.S. role in any new war, eager to empty the coffers of the U.S. Treasury and transfer it to the weapons industry while their constituents suffer.

One can believe that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is profoundly unjust and has produced horrific outcomes while still questioning what legitimate interests the U.S. has in participating in this war to this extent. Even if one fervently believes that helping Ukrainians fight Russia is a moral good, surely the U.S. government should be prioritizing the ability of its own citizens to live above the poverty line, have health insurance, send their kids to college, and buy insulin and baby formula.

There are always horrific wars raging, typically with a clear aggressor, but that does not mean that the U.S. can or should assume responsibility for the war absent its own vital interests and the interests of its citizens being directly at stake. In what conceivable sense are American citizens benefiting from this enormous expenditure of their resources and the increasing energy and attention being devoted by their leaders to Ukraine rather than to their lives and the multi-pronged deprivations that define it?” (-Glenn Greenwald)

It’s often been noted that in this demonic world we’re traveling through, you don’t get to the top by ignoring bogus trends and corporate puppet influencers, by sticking with the good ones, or by being honorable, or original, or by having principles, or by being true to your own drumbeat, in style or not, or trying to fix it when you mess something up. Ever since the dawn of the rocknroll era, those wicked white devils have been ripping off no name songwriters, stealing their act, their royalties, their sound, it’s what they do. They are not sorry. It’s their calling, their purpose, their way of life. Hell is empty-they are all on Instagram. Man, I was rummaging around all my old junk in boxes this morning, just thinking about that old Hanoi Rockys lyric, “you said I was a born loser, ’cause losing is all I’ve ever done.” That’s been my experience in this world-the few friends who were honest and faithful to me, the house I was raised in, my old Kentucky home, you dig? The old record store, the first apartment, the bandhouse, both divebars where I was an artist in residence, my rocknroll heroes, my teeth and hair, my ramshackle garage gangs, my much cherished loved ones, the Bill Of Rights, real food and medicine, all the freedoms those lying fuckers told us we had, I’ve seen it all just disappear in front of me, before my horrified eyes. It’s hard to take, somedays. That’s why we take it personal-like when we get plagiarized, or uncredited or not paid, or elbowed outta line for our little record’s release. Anybody trying to do the next right thing in this darkening age is hassled, mocked, censored, demonetized, deplatformed for deviating from official narratives, blacklisted, intentionally excluded, and betrayed. I feel deeply for Daniel Hale, Julian Assange. Even comedians are being targeted for straying off script. Lee Camp, Danny Haiphong, Aaron Mate, Matt Taibbi who wrote “Hate Inc.”, the book about how tv watchers are manipulated by partisan Ping-Pong politics, Chris Hedges, Abby Martin, all the whistle blower journalists and ex military experts: Col. Ann Wright, Colleen Rowley,  and Ray McGovern who was savagely beaten by Hillary’s personal attack dogs, John Kirakou, Steve Donzinger, everybody who stands up for peace and truth and soul, rather than just empty slogans and same ole same ole bullshit being recycled and sold to us by This Year’s Models. The music is fake, the politicians are tyrannical, puppet whores; the billionaires are deranged predators, the cops are all too often racists, and the media loves war, plagues, mass-murder, textbook boogeyman WMD’s propaganda, police state injustice. The wildfires of the West are so intense right now, I can’t even go for a walk because the air quality is so bad in the morning from over the mountains and the smoke irritates my eyes. I been thinking about our ole pal Miniskirt Mob guitarist, Amy Wichmann (RIP) while watching some Lisa Marie Presley videos on Youtube, battling some depression, between you and me. Listening to some old Ronald Koal (RIP) and Bootsey X (RIP) on the youtube. Not sure I’m all that jazzed about Brother Wayne Kramer calling himself and assorted grunge friends the MC5, ya know? But as he repeats, he’s a doer, owns the brand, it adds value to his guarantee, and he does not care what people think. I read both his and Mike Davis’ books, I liked Mike’s better, honestly. He’s still a helluva songwriter-I thank him for HIS service.

Sorry to hear that Howie Pyro guy passed away at age 61, I interviewed D-Generation at the RAT in Kenmore Square which is a posh hotel for rich people now, back when it was a sticky dive bar, for the first ish of my old fanzine. I liked the Freaks. I used to hangout at the Rat with my long gone former bandmates, the Bastards, and those blonde-haired dudes from the Unattached. Just read that Jetboy are no longer really a thing unless they are offered an awful lot of money-the guy with the guitar company, Billy Rowe, plays in Buck Cherry now, after a stint with Chris Isaak according to a French drummer friend o mine, and Fernie Rod retired. I thought “Feel The Shake” was maybe overhyped more than a bit, but really liked that band they did, American Heartbreak-they reminded me of me. Shows how hard it is to keep an over fifty band together, EVEN IF you had big record deals and media hype in the eighties, or nineties. The evil muzak industry has just kinda been weaponized and hijacked by evil powers that be. Maybe it was always like that and I just did not know. Do you remember that cool animated movie, “ROCK & RULE”, with Blondie, Cheap Trick, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop? Like they were tryin’ to tell us something. I got a dreaded dentist appointment I’m pretty anxious about-a dauntingly depressing referral to a big city specialist I have no money for, or transportation to, an imminent visit from the landlords to recknon with tomorrow, lots of parenting obligations this week that I am anxious ABOUT, mandating I appear among crowds, in public. A friend told me about some home software for recording I’m hoping to find time to experiment with in the near future. I no longer identify with any of my former peers who all kinda watch all the disturbingly sicko and depraved occultic bullshit on NetFlix and ignore the ongoing rollouts of tyranny and fascism all around them they feel so totally over-confident in just ignoring, because they all have Stockholm Syndrome and unconditionally still somehow trust Obama and Hillary and Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, ya know? It’s batshit, “16 Magazine” pinups crushing, willfully blind, fanclub worshipping. They only complain about gropey old men, kids in cages, or warpiggery when Trump does it. Like Iggy sang, “all roads lead to corruption”.

The censorship is unprecedented and all those “blue no matter who” people are ecstatic they are being protected from fake news by big-tech billionaires and the White House-they are all namaste cheering for it. They just want their corporate propaganda(D) straight from the Pentagon, Lockheed-Martin, Tel Aviv, or the spooks at Langley. That’s why we call them shitlibs-they namaste you all day long, but will never stand up for one single leftish value. Nothing. Just abortion and preferred pro nouns. That’s why the powers that be are gonna wag the dog with the same ole culture war, gender pro noun diversions, and Roe V Wade, again and again. Works everytime. Forget about poor people, or the Bill Of Rights. Keep it all LCD Blue Versus Red, Boy Versus Girl, Left Versus Right, Murkkka Versus Dem Dang Commies! Their made for tv, blue lives matter, Capital Hill psy-ops hysteria has fizzled out under Lyn Cheney’s evil eye and now deep state Dems got nothing to run on, except “RUSSIA!” AOC sucking back champagne with the occultist swells at the Met Gala, and Lyn Cheney repeating Orange Man Bad, are of little comfort to the vast majority of citizens in this country, while our fake representatives strip us of more rights and dispatch their Barbie tv teleprompter readers to proudly assure their booj Amazon box ordering office classers, how they plan to censor more indie media (“fake news”TM) for exposing the crimes of the empire and of the billionaire predators at the top. These ex punks I used to know do not give a fuck about free speech or freedom of the press. They just want to always feel comfortable and never be offended. That Dave Chappelle, he was OFFENSIVE! And what about that JOE ROGAN who keeps interviewing scientists and stuff who aren’t pimping product for big pharma? Mike Tyson talking about all the disappearing homeless people. They must all be SILENCED! Consortium News and Mintpress, two of the best sources of high quality investigative journalism have been demonetized by Pay-Pal. Big tech is going after every journalist who aint waving the big Ukraine flag for Eric Prince, Bill Gates, Dick Cheney, and Klaus Schwab. Yeehaw. Mark my word here-you sensitivity studies mimosa brunchers will be next. Did I mention how sick I am of all that Travis Barker-Yungblud creepy bloody nose fake debbil punque? That guy who attacked Chappelle is all gussied up just like all those Machine Gun Kelly/Lil Nas industry creeps-debbil horns, bloody nose, one eye, some real gnarly assholes pulling their puppet strings. It’s gross, this Charlie XCX chick-same shit, glorifying black magic, bloody death and devil worship for preteens-every video is some kinda dark ritual, every lapdance pop puppet sings about selling their soul. It’s a sick industry. I have less than zero desire to Keep Up With The Kardashians. Those chicks from Pussycat Dolls say they were all pimped out by their management to industry weasels. Weinstein-Epstein-R Kelly stuff. Ugh. Look for Whitney Webb’s “Unlimited Hangout” page online to learn how evil forces control your government by blackmailing politicians. Like in “Godfather 2”.

“Assange explained, the war on Afghanistan enabled the national security elite to extract money from the US taxpayer, wash it through Kabul and back into their own pockets. The $33 billion ‘aid’ package to Ukraine serves the same corrupt purpose.” (-Max Blumenthal)

Somebody online said it so eloquently: the squad are frauds and the fight for fifteen lasted so long that fifteen dollars is no longer anything near a living wage-you CAN NOT work forty hours a week for minimum wage anywhere in this NWO/Wall Street/Great Reset shithole country and pay that gentrification rent to your shit-liberal namaste landlords. People raised in this advertising culture, where even the landscape billboards are all owned by the same five billionaires, they just wanna feel good, get a lottta “likes”, ya know? Selfie with the replacement member of some gone slick rock brand. Pic of self looking anime at the gentrification lounge or comic-convention. They don’t wanna hear any bad news about false flag proxy army regime change wars, or big tech purge of all dissident journalists, even when everybody from the Old Guard Left sounds every alarm. Mike Gravel (RIP) and Glen Ford (RIP) were never mourned in the corporate media: only Iraq warmonger, EVIL Madeline Albright-ya know? That’s the kinda person celebrated by big 5 media. A known warmonger. Try to tell a gotmine shit-lib about Joe Laurie, Ben Norton, Jacobin magazine, Chris Hedges, The Convo-Couch, Consortium magazine, Mintpress, Black Agenda Report all being censored online, or how Tulsi gabbard and Jill Stein were slandered by Hillary Clinton, and they shrug their shoulders and tell you about some robot dog that will be delivering chemical weapons to protestors or dirty rebels in the near future, like it’s a good thing, or they repeat old wedge issue slogans from controlled opposition, farud-squad assets. I knew triangulating centrist, Bill Clinton was bad with Nafta, 3 Strikes laws, and handing airwaves to just 5 monopoly executives; but I never thought I’d see the day when rightwing leaning Rand Paul and Judge Napolitano would be fighting against big brother censorship and war propaganda, while soldout/fake progressive, feel goodist pinup faves, Obama and AOC and Bernie all obediently get in line with Gropey Joe and kiss, kiss, kissy, tipsy aunt Pelosi, parroting official establishment narratives. Feral cats left a dead baby bunny on my porch last night, my family woke me up horrified around one thirty in the morning before my spouse overcame her terror, and impulsively bagged it and disposed of it in outdoor garbage. Seems somehow metaphoric. Like we have arrived in Dead Bunny Land, USA, USA! When was the last time you heard any Democrat on television objecting to coups on Venezuela or Cuba or Libya, or superfunding the Ukraine to bait and battle Russia, just like they did in Afghanistan? Every single day, Biden pledges another 8 billion to his rightwing nationalist regime change proxy army in the Ukraine, and the shit-libs roar with approval, and fiercely OBJECT to the suggestion that they have been propagandized by Big-Media. They got Rainbow flags and diversity bumper stickers in their yard, but they love censorship and permanent war. It really is like that movie, “They Live!” or Sly Stallone’s “Demolition Man”. Everything on tv is wag the dog distraction theater or dead bunny consent manufacturing for creepy elites abusing poor people. In these tiresome days of manipulative headlines and relentless and exhausting bad news, you might draw some real consolation and sustenance from Jo Dog and Paul Black and their all star super group. In spite of the hurricane of unreality tv distortions and fabrications, the heart always yearns for something it can recgnize as holy and wholesome and righteous and real. Jo Dog and Paul Black make beautiful rocknroll music in the finest tradition of the Stones and Faces and vintage Dogs and Joneses. It’s like medicine.
