Germany’s finest power pop punk rock’n’roll band is back with a new album written in 14 days. Opening song “The Tide is High” is a good introduction to this new record and shows that the band’s teenage punk energy is stil intact. The MELMACS released a few singles/videos before releasing this new album and the catchy CLASH influenced “Run For Your Life” was one of them. “Falling” sounds like new wave on speed while “Bad Seeds” and “These Days” both display a more nostalgic sounding side of the band. “Keep On” had great catchy hooks and “Lazy Hearts” can easily be sung by an audience. You’ll also hear a bit of garage rock in “Deadbeat” and fast punk rock with “Showdown”. The band also know how to mix sweet melodies with rockin’ riffs in “Lifetime” and brings a bit of a 60s pop vibe in “Crying My Heart Out”. The album ends on a vintage glam rock note with “Electric Night” which will make you want to hear more! /Laurent C.
