MARC VALENTINE (some of you might be familiar with his band The LAST GREAT DREAMERS) is back with a new album released on LITTLE STEVEN Van Zand’s Wicked Cool label. “NY UAP” and “High In The Underground” open the album with classy power pop and great production by Dave Draper (MICHAEL MONROE, The PROFESSIONALS, The WILDHEARTS...) Songs like “The Other Side” or “You Are The Jet” have a Californian power pop vibe sometimes reminding of the mighty TSAR although the band is based in the UK. The vocal harmonies and backing vocals are perfect and you’ll even hear an early 80s American new wave touch in “Loneliest Part” and in “When The Light Has Gone”. Songs like “Tiger On Glass” our “Temporary Buzz”are more rooted in 77′ UK punk rock and “Hanging On A Dream” even has a bit of MOTT THE HOOPLE in it. The glam rock influences can also be heard in “Half-Moon Pendant” and its 70s BOWIE ballad mood. This is the album you need if you’re looking for some good songwriting and catchy powerpop tunes with a glam vibe. /Laurent C.
