Germany’s Wanda Records rarely have bad ideas. This time they have chosen to collect the recordings of LA FLINGUE from Marseille, France and release a beautiful splatter vinyl with a killer punked-up situationist BEATLES cover art. 24 nihilistic old-school punk tracks reminding of The BRIEFS and Marseille speed punks The HATEPINKS. Songs like “Homo Pogo” or “Bunker Kids” are very catchy and the ’77 punk influences mix with snotty French vocals in “Vos Bouches Sont Des Cadavres”, “Angle Mort”, “Tue Ta Jeunesse”or “Ton Cuir Noir de Merde”. You’ll even hear some German in “Hass Hass Hass”, “Diese Graue Stadt” and in “Tranz Aux Dem Mull”. The TOYS DOLLS also come to mind when listening to “System Turning Blue” while “One Chord One Beat” has a bit of X in it. Nevertheless, the band chose to cover 999‘s “Homicide” here. “You’re a Marketing Company” and “Porcelaine God” are post punk with the rage of the SEX PISTOLS while “Encapsulated” is street punk at its finest and “Rocksette” is classic rock’n’roll on speed. This one should be on your buy list! /Laurent C
