Pittsburgh action rock gang The CHEATS return with their 6th album. Opening song “Blood From a Stones” leaves no doubt, they haven’t become a pop band although it doesn’t mean they don’t like good melodies as you can hear this in the catchy “I Wanna…” You’ll find some songs to sing after a night out in a bar like “The Only Thing I’m Fucking Is Up” or “Stuck On You” and punk rock anthems such as “I Want You”, “Control” or “Tile To Leave”. You’ll also find a cool ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE cover (“For You”) on this new album and raw punk rock infused with sleazy hard rock’n’roll in songs like “Lie To Me” or the MOTÖRHEAD tainted “Everything You Love Will Die.” The last song “The Price I Pay” has a bit of SOCIAL DISTORTION /MICHAEL MONROE into it and it fits the band very well. “Old Rats on A New Ship” will be released on June 25 on Heavy Medication Records/Screaming Crow Records. /Laurent C.
