Just one month after TASTE TESTORS formed they played their first show, and a month after that they recorded and mastered their first album, and a month after that they cut a deal with Moodkiller Records (HUTCHIE, TRASH SOUND CONGLOMERATE, The SNUBS). You’ll find members of The BRIEFS, RABID DOGS, The PINIELLAS, The GREATEST HIST, CLEAN LINES, etc. in this gang from Seattle. The RAMONES influence can be heard in songs like “What She Don’t Know Will Hurt Her”,”I Don’t Want To Fall In Love With Me”, “No One’s Listening”,”She Looks Cool In Every Direction”or “I Don’t Wanna Be A Zombie” but it doesn’t mean that the TASTE TESTORS are a pop punk band, they sound more like they’ve been spending some time at CBGB rather than on Californian beaches.. They have the raw energy, the hooks and snotty attitude of ’77 punk bands as you can hear in “Doctor, Doctor” or in “Narc”and they dig into 70s power pop in songs like “We Don’t Wanna Have Nothing To Do With You” or “The Last Thing I Want.”10 songs for early NYC punk rock lovers! /Laurent C.
