Juan y La Hormiga is a duo made up of Muchas Hormigas (vocals and melodica) and Juan Pablo Mazzola (vocals and guitar). The project began in 2019 when the couple based in Valencia (Spain) had the idea of giving shape to versions of songs that they both listened to in the car, in their first years of dating in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 2022 they released their debut EP titled “Terapia de Pareja” in digital format. It was made up of 4 versions, 2 in Spanish (“Donde Está Esa Promesa?” by Los Gatos and “Estación” by Sui Generis) and 2 in English (“Best Of My Love” by Eagles and “500 Miles” by Peter, Paul, and Mary). They also began to perform in different clubs and bars in the Valencian Community.

They participated in 2 compilations (“Twibuto a Twibuto” and “Melodías Animadas al Ataque, Cine de Antes”, contributing “All I Have to Do is Dream” by “The Everly Brothers” and “Everybody’s Takin’ by “Harry Nilsson” respectively).

In 2024 they recorded their first album, titled “Valencia”, in homage to the city, and to their life story as a family. The music is strongly influenced by the Alt Country of “The Jayhawks”, “Golden Smog”, as well as the guitars of “Soul Asylum”, all bands from the “Minneapolis” scene.

The first cut of the album is titled “After the War”, the video for it was recorded by Fabio Mogrovejo Florentini, and edited in “Studio 4” by Alonso Brown, it shows the couple sitting on a bench on a road, near the rural area in Foios, where they live.
