Californian band The POPRAVINAS! are back with a new 10 song album. “Closes Thing To a Smile” is a good powerpop opener with a bit of ROLLING STONES in it.”Autumn of The Fall” is pure Americana that will take you to desert roads under Caifornian sun. You’ll hear a lot of melancholy in “3 Months Situation” or “Eastern Ave Bar” and “Gonna Take Time” has a bit of a LOU REED vibe. “Keep On” and “Sugar Likes Peanut Butter”” will lift you up with their whisky bar atmosphere. If you like quieter songs then “North Winds Howling (4:20 AM EST) and “Get Em Good Or Get Em Gone” are the ones for you and if you’re more into radio friendly American rock then listen to “The Girl Who Didn’t Want To Hear Any Tunes.” This might be your favourite end of the summer album. /Laurent C.
