Emerging from subtropical Miami and named after an Italian speedboat company, DONZII (pronounced dawn-ZEE) exists in a dystopian dream, experienced through an all-knowing, all-seeing gaze cast upon discordant politics, unravelling environments, deconstruction of sexual conventions, and the ever present threat of an alien apocalypse.
Their recent single “Station” will make you feel like you are at funky yet ethereal dance party on a space station looking out at the stars. Evoking feelings of female empowerment, heartbreak, fun and nostalgia all in one punch, this track fits a dance party playlist or an upbeat hang with seamless prowess.
Led by the inimitable singer, artist and choreographer Jenna Balfe, post-punk/no-wave outfit DONZII revel in dark, danceable spaces in the waning light of the moon.
