“Outside Place” was originally released in 2013 and is now reissued via
Hovercraft Records from Portland, Oregon. The opening song “Outside Place” is a pretty good mix of sunny pop punk and powerpop and the video for it draws inspiration from the ’80s classic film “Repo Man.” “Vampire” has a cool ’77 punk vibe reminding me of The BOYS and The UNDERTONES, “All The Time” could stand somewhere between The CLASH and The JAM and you’ll also hear some 60s powerpop influences in “Marina.” The warm analog production is perfect for songs like the rockin’ “Out On The Streets” and “Ooh Ooh Ooh” in which the bass/drums bridge will make you feel as if the band is playing in your room if you turn the sound up. If you’re like me and haven’t heard this EP before, then do yourself a favour and check it out!/Laurent C.
