“I’d Rather Be Listening To The Mendozas” is the new single of Toronto based pop punk trio The MENDOZAS and also the opening track of this new 12 song album. The GREEN DAY influence is obvious in this single and The MENDOZAS have the energy and fun of late 90s Fat Wreck Records bands. Songs like “Lottery Tickets” or “Pour One Out For Hot Sarah” have eveything pop punk fans need and tunes like “Lord Coxwell” or “Birds Like Meat” will make you want to party on your skateboard! You’ll hear some RAMONES guitars in “Shooting Myself”, old school American hardcore parts in “Dark and Mysterious”, “Captcha The Flag” and “Moscow.” as well as rockin’ hardcore with “Cool Girls/Ugly Tattoos.” The most surprising song is probably “I Wanna Pet Your Dog” mixing metal guitars with STOOGES winks.
