Where I live, near the border, I overhear nutty white people at like the vape shop fretting about brown people coming here but there are almost no brown people visible here. Two black folks I knew left town and I rarely see ANY poc-all honky gun nuts and racist cowboys worrying about “the others” cause they listen to that hateful talk radio all day. What IS very visible are choppers overhead, military planes, and state troopers stopping people for madeup infractions-what’s up with that? Me and my old lady were on our way home from work yesterday, dude pulled us over and said she did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign but he would let her off with a warning, we both knew that was not really even true, but weren’t gonna argue with the authority figure. We went to get gas and saw them pull three more cars over in like five minutes. Something’s up with that. It’s a batshit bizarro world we inhabit. If you’re mad at me for opposing the massacres of women and children and their husbands and fathers by Israel with full support of the occupied uniparty, maybe you should consider paying more attention to TIKTOK and less attention to occupied Pantagon state-media.

I’ll always love these guys. That first album is my idea of perfect rocknroll, really and the “Still Alive” ep! In my many brushes with them in person as a kid, they were all real righteous, standup, good people, too. I still got photos of all those cats in the garage with me and summa my dead bandmates backstage fall over. Ryan and Zowie were the ones I knew the least and they’ve left the earth, but Gary, Alex and Ricky were all very kind and generous with me and my little pack of cross country galivanting, glammed out, wouldbe rhinestone cowboys, back in the day. Al and friends continue flying the flag for the freak society and there just aint that many bands with replacement members who can effectively honor the vibe of the original lineup like these dudes do. Billy Tsounis is a great performer and songwriter too, and plays guitar like almost nobody around. He’s what we used to call a legit guitar hero. Alex also writes books. Gary is a parent in the midwest who writes poignant, heartfelt tunes in the Bukowski-punk spirit of Paul Westerberg, Tom Waits and old school Tom Petty. Check ’em all out.
