French indie punk rock band DARIA are back with a new album after a 7 year break. Noisy pop track “Water & Sound” announced this 9 (+ 1 on CD) song album in late 2022 though. You’ll hear some late 90s American indie rock in these songs with a bit of FUGAZI vibe at times. Songs like “Keep My Head” or “The Choral Wounds” have good poppy choruses while “Cognac” and “The Invisible Wandering” bring early grunge memories to mind. You’ll also find a bit of old-school punk rock with “A Smile, An Oasis” and moody atmospheres with “Minor Majority” and “Second To None.” Bonus track “Fictions” is actually really good so you should go for the CD version. /Laurent C.
