Ontario’s post-punk/art-rock band The MERINGUES brought us a very interesting single (“Royalty”) a few weeks ago so I was definitely curious to hear more. “Shambles” is a youthful catchy rock tune while “Medusa”, “Outta Time” and “Speed” are a sparkling mix of 00s indie and 70s glam rock. Things get wonderfully chaotic on “Nvr Rlly Hnst”, melodic yet powerful in “Phantom” and more punk rock with “Time To Breathe” and “70 Lemon Trees”. You’ll also hear garage rock in “Invincible” and a B-52’s touch in “A.I (Actually Incredible).” Check this band out if you need some fresh colourful blood! /Laurent C.
