Italy’s PEAWEES have been teasing us with quite a few singles before the release of this new album including opening indie hit “Banana Tree” ,”The Wolf”, “One Ride” and the surf rock tainted “Lost In The Middle”. This is the 7th album of the band who has been through various line-up changes in almost 30 years of existence. “Drive” and “Plastic Bullets” have a bit of PRIMA DONNA into it in the way they mix garage rock with stylish glam hooks. You’ll hear classy vintage touches in songs like “She Cries As She Kills”, “Spell On Me” and “Who’s The Enemy” and you might have “Before I Die” stuck in your mind for a while after listening to it. The closing song “You’ll Never Be Mine Again” offers us a fine mix of soul and 60s rock that will make you want to give the record another play and you should definitely go for it! /Laurent C.
