Vermont’s Dead Street Dreamers formed during the lockdown of 2021. Opening track “Countdown To The Reaper” has an early HELLACOPTERS vibe and “Turncoat Lover” or “No Where To Go” bring TURBONEGRO to mind. Nate Hale’s vocals have a bit of hardcore in them so it’s not surprising to see names such as MINOR THREAT or BLACK FLAG in the band’s influences and songs like “Paradigm Shift”, “Get Loose”, “Crash and Burn” or “Dark Thoughts” definitely have an early 80s American hardcore edge. Scandinavian rock’n’roll fans will love “Stargazer” and “Ground Zero” while post punks will probably enjoy “Kill Your Ego.” “Hammer Down”, “Vicious Shakedown” and “Energy” are killer punk rock songs and “Heavy Times” has everything to start big mosh pits. Hard rock’n’roll and hardcore are partying together on this album and they get along together very well! /Laurent C.
