Swiss punk rock veterans SNOTTY CHEEKBONES are back with a 4th album on Monster Zero Records. “Dark Ages” opens the record in a 80s Californian punk way just before “Good Fight” takes us back to the 90s when bands like NOFX or PENNYWISE were skate punk’s favourites.The ska-punk “Holes in The Shoes” reminds me more of OPERATION IVY and even though “Smash It Up” is not a DAMNED cover, it is sure catchy enough to make you want to pogo.”Hurt” has a bit of REPLACEMENTS in its melody and there’s not many chances that with a song title such as “FUCK” you’ll ear some emo pop, and indeed you’ll get some angry 80s punk rock in this one. If you need more skate punk, then just listen to “Bullets”, “Raise Your Glass”, “Out Of Here” and “Hockey Rink” and if you prefer surprises then the last song “Rain” will work for you!
