Good to hear from GYPSY ROLLER years after his two fantastic albums “Champagne & Rock’n’Roll” (2014) and “Alive and Kickin’” (2017.) This time he offers us a live recording with the help of Ron Wesley (lead guitar), Jonas Greene (rhythm guitar), Doug Reichard (drums), Adam Bartell (bass), Allen Davis (producer), Adam Rossi (mastering) and a great illustration by Adam Turkel. “She’s Got The Structure” opens with a bit of a FASTER PUSSYCAT vibe before “Watcha Gonna Do” takes us to a smokey bluesy bar atmosphere and “I Like It Like That” and “Talk About Love Now” bring some wild 70s energy. Things get quieter with “Waiting In Line” and heavier with “American Dream.” The good thing about this live recording is that it doesn’t sound like a contemporary live album, it really has a vintage flavour. You’ll also get some good demo/outtake bonus material of most of the songs you can find in the live recording plus “Generate a Feeling”, “I Want To Be a Machine”, “Do It Again” and “It’s Hard To Stay Alive in a Plastic World.” Now it would be really cool to find these songs on a future studio album. /Laurent C.
