Former LAZY COWGIRLS frontman PAT TODD is still going strong and proves it with his new album out on Dog Meat Records. “Livin’ In a World of Hurt” is pure rock’n’roll with a bit of rhythm and blues thrown in, “All We Have To Show” is a good Californian rock song that will make you want to drive under the sun and “State Line” brings the spirit of JOHNNY THUNDERS back among us while “Donna” and its “Lonely Planet Boy” vibe could have been on a NEW YORK DOLLS album. “Cheap Shot Artist” is quite catchy and “Long In The Tooth (Before The Dolls)” rocks with a nostalgia feel while “Stagger Swagger” gives us a good 50s rock’n’roll shot. The party goes on with the great “Venus De Millo Broke My Back”, the country rock “Back Down In The Basement”, the glam rock “Hi Ho Silver Linning” and the STONES influenced “Goodbye To The World.” The title track “Sons Of The City Ditch” closes the album the way it starts in a pure rock’n’roll spirit. Another great one from PAT TODD! /Laurent C.
