This British noise rock band will take you back to the 90s with their heavy bass lines and grungy guitars. “Pass The Parcel” and “Down The Alley” both play with emotions and intensity reminding me bands like FUGAZI and The JESUS LIZARD while “Love Is Dead” is a cool noisy pop song to sing along to. Think L7 meets EATER. It sounds raw and organic just as it should with a slight touch of goth rock in “Vampire Of The Night.” The NIRVANA influence is sometimes obvious (“Psychodrama”) and “What A Shame (Cocaine)” displays more pop sensibility. “Boiler Room” is an interesting one bringing DEUS to mind, “On The Beaches” is definitely a beach ballad and songs like “Insane” and “Have You Ever Been In Love?” get more into the SONIC YOUTH territory. The album ends with the rockin’ “Good Luck” and the acoustic “No Guts No Fame.” 90s aficionados will dig this one for sure! /Laurent C.
