We were tripping on acid alot and driving around these back roads of Indiana seeing crazy hallucinations and shit, right around then I somehow got hip to that Triple XXX Records Jane’s Addiction album with “I Would For You” and “One Percent” and we also still loved the Cult’s “Love”, Warrior Soul’s first record, that first Lenny Kravitz record and the first Circus Of Power masterpiece, right? I liked “Is Nothing Shocking” also, but not much after that, certainly not “Been Caught Stealing”, but that early stuff still carries a lotta golden good vibrations in it! “Jane Says” captured all of us but it was impossible to not hate it after all the years of overplaying. I thought Perry was real original and they were like the last sorta “Alternative” band I really liked.

First night I tripped on acid we started the evening at the Dive uptown and I think the Antoinettes were probably playing and then all my girlfriend’s older friends packed me into a cab and we went to see the Butthole Surfers at danceteria, it was the wildest performance art I’d ever seen being a small 90 lb weirdo runaway from Maysville Kentucky. First, I was naturally shocked by their deliberately offensive and provocative band name, right? But look, I got zero interest in precious P.C. culture being socially engineered by sick fucks on high to help manufacture support for their “You will on nothing and be happy” cashless society/social credit/depopulation agenda they seem to be wrapping up in rainbow flags and greenwash slogans in spite of being the very fucks who are screwing up the enviornment with their private planes and bogus wars and geoengineering experiments. I want my punk rock to be inflammatory and funny and shocking and real. Gibby came on stage with dozens on clothes pins in his hair, he was throwing thousands of exeroes double sided pictures of roaches into the audience, oh yeah, while wearing some sorta satin prom dress, he lit curtains on fire, people got naked, two drummers were bashing out an insanely sick tribal beat, I was peaking on acid, ya know, and this large boobied female is shaking her action like two feet in front of me. I tried to bring some of that risky theater back to the midwest years later, but people still weren’t even really ready for like anything where I came from, they wer all still into football and war.
