GUTTER GOSPEL WITH YOUR HOST GENERAL LABOR! SENDING OUT GOOD VIBES TO STEVEN ADLER, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, STILL LOVING KIX EVEN IN MY OLD AGE, JUSTICE FOR TORT, BOYCOTTING PIG MEDIA, RAGE AGAINST THE WAR MACHINE, WHITNEY WEBB, JIMMY DORE SHOW, REVOLUTIONARY BLACKOUT NETWORK, CODE PINK, BLACK ALLIANCE FOR PEACE, SOLIDARITY WITH THE WATER PROTECTORS & FORREST DEFENDERS, AND GLAM ROCK PINKOS FOR PEACE STAYING WILD & STAYIN’ FREE!!!
So yeah Metal Sludge and some others reported that Steven had to leave the stage in the middle of a show, with some of him assocaites claiming he was battling the flu. man that guy’s been through so much, from “accidentally’ stabbing himself to suffering from decades long depression and addiction issues, being exployed by fake doctors on tv, all kinds of awful shit. Even Andy McCoy goees after him in his book for getting high with Erin Everly. If Erin Everly showed up at your door saying she was single and wanted to party, would you kick her off the property? In some rags the GNR brand camp say they had no choice but to expell him from the band when he was “unable to play” that soong, “Civil War”. Hey man, as far as I’m concerned, it’s a badge of honor not playing on that song. He gave us all a lifetime of rocknroll roller coaster kicks as the exquisitiely one in a million drummer on “Live Like A Suicide” and “Appetite”, and I really didn’t like much of their shit after that record, anyway. When Adler was thrown out after Farm Aid, they lost the recklessness of their dirty rocknroll years, and when Izzy left, they lost the songwriting. I never liked “November Rain” or any of that overwrought operatic stuff they tried. So yeah I’m sending out good vibes and prayers for Steven Adler, maybe he’s a fuckup, or has problems, but who doesn’t? I love the guy. God bless him. He’s a rocknroll motherfucker.
“As someone who is/was shadowbanned simply because I don’t toll the hegemonic neoliberal political line, I welcome Twitter’s promise to deal with this policy & to reveal users shadowban status.” (-Ajamu Baraka)
““House members who voted for the $858 billion FY23 NDAA—an $80 billion increase over the amount authorized by the FY22 version—received 6.9 times more money from military contractors than those who voted against it.” (-Matt Hoh For Senate on whores for war)
“There are two major grifts going on in US politics:
The fauxgressive “Left” of the Squad, TYT, Sam Seder & Breadtube. And the corporate populism of Musk, Ben Shapiro, Crowder & Charlie Kirk. Neither side questions US imperialism or the true crimes committed by US intelligence.” (-Primo Radical)
“On this Human rights day let it be said that the U.S. is the number 1 violator of human rights on the planet. No nation in human history is responsible for more death & destruction than this settler nation & capitalist empire.” (-Ajamu Baraka)
“I’ll gladly wait a day to get my “pop-tarts” if it means workers get paid sick leave. Also, commerce flows because of workers, not the CEOs or corrupt government officials who exploit them. This is propaganda. President Biden & Vice President Harris just sided with the railroad companies over rail workers who are fighting for paid sick leave. They are working to deliver results for Big Business, not working families.” (-Ryan Knight)
“So-called American “leftists” who have swallowed anti-Russia and anti-China propaganda are far more frustrating than the right.
At least the right is honest and direct. American “leftists” cover up their warmongering in “freedom” and even “socialism.” “The communists who run Twitter.”
“The communists who run the FBI.”
This is your brain melting from anti-communism.” (-Danny Haiphong)
“The US embassy is pushing the narrative that Peru’s President Castillo launched a coup. In reality he’s victim of a coup by the right-wing-controlled congress
Police arrested him. Congress swore in a new president Dina Boluarte, who was expelled from the leftist Perú Libre party” (-Ben Norton)
I tried to sit through a number of television concerts on one of those seven day free trial cable channels and was not feeling any of ’em-partly, I’m sure because I’m all too fucking sober and smoke free these dismal days, and also cause I got a loud teenager who never stops talking except to eat or (rarely) sleep. That Stooges in the basement show sucked so much ass, what kinda cruel dick thinks it’s just a bitchen idea to remove Iggy from his audience and give him a stool to sit on? The Godfathers at the 100 Club was okay but honestly I did not think their crowd was really deserving, they weren’t responding like say, I would if I was in the front row of that legendary club. I’ll tell you the Bunnymen concert blew my mind, ya know they were musically so sophisticated, every bit as remarkably talented at the Smiths or the Cure. Ian is a better frontman than any of those Brit pop twrps who came later. Just a masterful; mixture of Bowie and Morrison-cigarette, bit hoarse, poetic grandeur, Cohenesque understatement, subtle songs suggesting sensuous fairyland frolicsome dancing around the fire. “Bring On The Dancing Horses” stills himmers with so much grace and elegance. “Lips Like Sugar” makes me feel fourteen again everytime, even after all thses years. “The Killing Moon” might be the best song of that whole eighties new wave era, certainly almost as perfect as “melt With You” or “just Like Heaven” or “But Not Tonight” or “How Soon Is Now.” So yeah if you get a chance and are ever in the mood to revisit that long lost majestical world we once knew, be sure to see ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN’s moody concert “DANCING HORSES”. Pure golden grandeur. If you’re anything like me you may have wasted half your life away trying to get back to some long lost Eden you only ever briefly glimpsed. Recess. A moonlit sliver of an immortal moment. Hell Yeah Hootenanny. Divebar New Year’s. Bikini summer. Imagine being born into this era as a rocknroll animal and power to the people street poet when fun is outlawed, truth is forbidden, up is down, war is peace, partying is bad, good times are frowned upon, violence is considered sport, comedians are cancelled, jouranlsist are murdered or kidnapped, and people look to the big machine for instructions and obey. I’ll be honest, I’m having trouble not smoking. People worship politicians and trust these sociopathic, remorselessly genocidal, on the record, depopulation billionaires. Everything’s a ripoff and a lie. I’m stressedout almost all the fucking time. Can’t even go for a fucking walk cause all the crazy rightwing cowboys all got these angry packs of dogs they keep loose to discourage pedestrians from walking down their streets. feels more and more like an o[pen air prison when you aint got no local friends and the nearest bus station is two hours away by car. The affordable bookstore closed during the Fauchi clampdowns and the only remaining second hand junk shops’ only open thirty hours a week, which just leaves you with Wal Mart really, and how much fun you gonna have at Wal Mart. I nevr know when my impulsive kid’s gonna do something crazy which depletes my central nervous system, aint nowhere to retreat to, sometimes I feel like a hostage and I avoid bars and can’t relate to the partisan robots on social media at all. They all seem pro imperialist, pro murder, pro CIA, pro elitist microchip dystopian pigstate. I’ve been hated all my life by the cows of conformity, the Black Friday shoppers, the midwestern hamburglars and now the fauxwokes in the pink hats. It’s a drag, but there is still the Bunnymen.
Do Black people living in the West ever wonder why hardly any Black or Brown countries got down with the helping the US and their vassal states? All this death and destruction for the US to maintain their hegemony. Quotes from the ‘Good team’
Obama “Okay, we tortured some folks” Albright “Killing 500,000 Iraqi children was worth it” Hillary laughing about murdering Gadaffi “We came, we saw, he died” Bush joking about Iraq “Those weapons of mass destruction have go to be here somewhere”
The United States spent years knowingly arming Nazis and nobody seems to care, If it will cost the American taxpayer close to $100 billion for Russia to take most of the Donbass, how much is it gonna cost us for them to go all the way to Odessa? Putin must have learned this from what NATO did in Yugoslavia and the U.S. did in Iraq
Oh never mind, I forgot about the ‘Rules Based Order’, so new rules, write them down class Infrastructure is no longer a legitimate target and is a war crime, until the US does it again. The United States ran an illegal torture program. BREAKING NEWS Fauci is a liar! Never mind he already told us that himself. American taxpayers have spent more on this war in 9 months than Russia spends on its military in a year
Our Gov’t doesn’t want us to be able to account for where the money went
But don’t worry I’m sure a great deal of it never left America and went to our weapons manufacturers. The Pentagon can’t account for $2 trillion and this isn’t the first time, now tell me about how bad the corruption is in the military of other countries again. Both former Chancellor of Germany and former President of Ukraine now admit there was no intention to honor the Minsk Agreement and signing it was just a way to make time for Ukraine to build their military to fight Russia.
To the U.S., Ukraine is the useful country on Russia’s border. Will there come a time Americans stop being suckers? You all remember when Pelosi went on 60 minutes, shrugged off the Squad and basically said she wasn’t worried about them because they’ll get in line?
Talk about a true statement. Some in our country are so lost in our Gov’t propaganda that they are calling just about anybody they disagree with fascists, while they are supporting giving missiles to Nazis at the same time. “
(-Black In The Empire)”
Russiagate was not only the dumbest scam of this century, but also the most dangerous.” (-Aaron Mate’)
IT WOULD BE REDUNDANT NOW FOR ME TO RECORD A VERSION OF
“The Story”, but when it first came out, I had wanted to, before all those other people did, cause it’s rare I connect so much with a song, or that a soulful artist cracks the mainstream somehow. I’m not a fan of SNL or Rolling Stone that have both been infiltrated and weaponized against the people, and I worry for Brandi Carlile cause so many people rely on her for their livelihood and wellbeing, fame and money ain’t always that great for good people. Power corrupts. But I do appreciate BC and her talent and soulfulness. Sinead was probably the last person with that much powerhouse talent AND deep feeling and sincere artistry and look what they did to her…just awful.
“US spends billions of dollars to arm sectarian death squads and also imposes crippling sanctions to prevent reconstruction, while claiming to care about Syrians and opposing “autocracy.”
How many Syrians voted for US autocrats like
Joel Rayburn and his murderous sanctions? (-Aaron Mate’)
We’ve gone from “the government did not direct Twitter” to “the government did not threaten Twitter if they failed to comply with the directions.” It will never be enough proof for them. How do you describe this as anything other than being brainwashed?” (-Primo Radical)
You know man, I often say I don’t really like many of the Bruce Dickinson/Geoff Tate/Ronnie James Dio style, high register screamers of heavy metal-the Jason Mcmasters and Jim Gillettes. One band I do like that mostly appeals to metalheads and stonewashed jean wearing tattoo mamas with big hair, ya know the eighties aging hairspray queens, is KIX, who always reminded me of a cross between old school Aerosmith when they could still write good songs and did not need no syrup mongering song doctor’s help, meets AC/DC with a good sprinkling of Hanoi Rocks and NY Dolls. “Blow My Fuse” just makes me feel like I did when I was a teenager putting on my eye makeup and spraying my hair yp to look like Steve Stevens on my way out to look for some rocknroll girls at the dirty nightclubs that would let underage hoodlums like me and my punk rock friends in. I loved seeing KIX live cause they attracted a real working class, fun loving, party crew crowd, KIX were a whirling dervish of scarves and faces and winklepickers and shag haircuts and they were such hard workers, Whiteman dances up a storm like Jim Dandy times Mick Jagger, the guitarists go gonzo like ga ga gangbusters the whole show, everybody rocks. Their old basplayer did something so creepy he had to leave the band he started, and let the lads keep touring without him, but he owns most of the songwriting publishing, so he probably don’t need the money-the rest of those guys soldier on through changing times, the nineties corporate mergers hammered us all with LCD gangsta rap, buzzkill grunge and boyband techno, fake hip-pop mousepad robotic lapdancer bullshit neo disco, industry ghouls handling them poorly, getting bad advice, limited airplay, no real promotion after “Close Your Eyes”, experiencing economic hardships, blue collar dayjob woes, drug problems and health problems and corporate media playlists and a fascist police state based on keeping people in a constant state of fear, Orange Alerts, “war on terror” crazy racist anti-Muslim propaganda, overpriced ticket monopoly ripoffs, gas gouging, war fictions, poisoned water, anti-immigrant hysteria, skyhigh utilities, bad media, bad food, bad science and death plague clampdowns, Rachel “Reds Under Our Beds” and the New Cold War McCarthyism, a government that tortures, drones, spies on all our electronic communications, blames Russia for all of Wall Street and Wal Mart’s non stop greedhead gouging, pivots to China, does Coups whenever they want and always generates more panic mongering media manipulations discouraging people from freely congregating and mostly shutting down their concert biz. The creepy media monopolies are now promoting age inappropriate sexualization, blood and gore slasher film carnage, cannibalism and teenagers selling their souls to secret societies for instafame on all the Netflix/Hulu shows and with those sicko Kardashian fake punk bands. The evil fatcats who control the media platforms are actively glorifying murder and depravity and that is considered okeydokey wokey wokey and mainstream now. I’m so old I remember Tipper Gore being able to convene congress to clutch her pearls over Darling Nikki masturbating with a magazine and Twisted Sister and Motley Crue rebelliously defying authority figures, shouting AT the debbil, and smoking in the boy’s room. KIX survived all that crazy shit and kept playing their hearts out treading the boards everynight for decades but now the drummer is having sudden health issues like many drummers and athletes and kids who’ve been dying suddenly or having heart attacks while playing soccer or whatever. It’s kinda sad to see good hearted, well intentioned, longtime dedicated rocknroll diehards being subject to so many needless tribulations. I dunno if you’ve heard his solo lp, “You’re Welcome” or the Whiteman side project Funny Money, but Brian “Damage” Forsythe does a lotta cool stuff on the side, jamming with all kindsa cool underground bands like Rhino Bucket who are on Acetate and Big In Wapakoneta, and even collaborating with Eddie Spaghetti and Frank Meyer from Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs..He’s like a bit of Andy McCoy and a bit of Johnny Thunders in a hard rockin’ band of underdogs from Nowhereland If anybody knows how hard it is to keep a hard rock band together through all the tumult and terror, it’s me, I can not manage all those conflicting personality trips and differing agendas, so all my gangs seem to fizzle out right when it’s time to polish vocals and mix the record, right when all the idols and dolls have asked us to go on tour as the openers and the magazine critics have compared us to D-Generation, Guns N Roses, the Real Kids, and Dramarama, that’s when my bands break up. If you listen to “Blow My Fuse”, you’ll instantly remember how much fun it was goin’ out to see the Big Rock Show back when rocknroll ruled the night. The other real special thing about KIX besides the totally romantic story of those guys doing all that work and fighting through all the hardships and obstacles together is how their audience stayed with ’em through all those years-they built their following the old fashioned way by playing shitbox dives night after night, year after year with extremely minimal record company or radio support and here they stand all these years laters still rockin’ out like tigers on vaseline.
So I was askin’ around lookin’ for my old pen pal Deane 13 who use to film those NYC videos I’m only seen silhouetted in. I loved his band THE SACRED, they were just so rad and had grown out of a little garage band called KNIF and he’d been playing on some big bills with Cynthia from the B Girls and Dictators and shit but I lost track of him a couple years back, I just know he had been having some serious health problems. His son Jake Clapper who looks just like the old man has a band called DRAG COUNTY SPEED QUEENS who will be releasing a debut lp called “Touble In Paradise” this year that oughta be good cause his pop is a fantastic guitarist and raised the boy on rocknroll in Hatboro, PA. Look for ’em and Hey, Deane 13, give us a call. Deane Clapper – KNIF | SugarBuzz Magazine
