Bye Bye Miss Amerikkkan Pie, This Diabolical Reset Is Tyrannical Dystopian Hell, Death Of Free Press, Everybody’s Zombified! (-with your host, Murkkka’s Favorite Dishwasher, General Labor)

I don’t know ’bout you, but I’m not really sleeping. Restless and upset about this Assange railroading. Call me old fashioned, I still believe in freedom, autonomy, sovereignty, legit democracy, free speech, and a free press-and REAL ROCKNROLL. I don’t know if you know, or noticed, or can even bring yourself to believe it, but since the perverse Citizen United shady supreme court ruling that made it legal for corporations to outright, straightup just buy politicians saying bribery money is free speech, the bad guy billionaires have bought up all the institutions and media and regulatory agencies and social safety nets that were supposed to protect us and weaponzized ’em against us. Even misusing the traditional lexicon of real people’s movements, hijacking that shit for profit. CIA people posing as journalists. Journalists kidnapped and killed. The whole shebang is fucked up and we are ruled by shadow tyrants we never really voted for. Stiv sang, “they take their pills and they never question why”. Today’s red carpet rockstars help The Man gaslight the people when they actively promote creepy elite abusive reset agendas, and act as propagandists brazenly promoting bullshit wars, police state spying, journalists in torture gulags, and official narratives, alla showbiz has been weaponized. If you want a job in the fields of media or entertainment now, you gotta be on board with the one world government sleaze-police. All the comedians, whistleblowers, truth tellers, even medical professionals and intelligence experts who deviate at all from strict top down narrative control are being relentlessly censored, deplatformed, smeared and demonetized. In the words of Lee Camp who’s been kicked off multiple platforms for his anti imperialist views, and advocating for Assange, “This is the most disgusting morally bankrupt decision in recent years. The UK Home Secretary just now signed off on extraditing Julian Assange to the  US to be tortured for the rest of his life for the crime of journalism.” Never forget the champagne swilling fake punks and soldout cowardly politicians who never fought for Julian Assange. THANKS to Vivien Westwood, Banksy, Pamela Anderson and Susan Sarandon for championing a genuine free press that holds the powerful to account.

BOOTSEY X

Here’s a cool cat who never gets enough credit, the good brother BOOTSEY. He was a “Pusherman Of Love”. It’s funny ya know I met that dude through a weird series of events like twenty some years ago and did not “get” him at first. I remember looking at like, his low budget artwork and hearing all his machinegun speed raps and faster than light velocity and kung fu moves and James Brown kneedrops and elaborate high five handshakes and shit, and it took me awhile for it to set in, what a righteous rocknroll motherfucker he was. One of a kind. He’d drummed for a famous Detroit punk band called The Mutants and lobbied actively for the drumstool in one of my shortlived garage gangs, offered to put me and my old lady up when we were homeless. His apartment burntdown back in the day with all the rare records and shit and I told Brother Wayne and him n Margaret sent Bootsy a check to help out-how cool and right the fuck is that? Man, so yeah. If you like crazy goodtimes Motor City Motorbooty Motherfuckery, here’s some BOOTSY X & THE LOVEMASTERS for ya. I miss the brother, he was good people. (RIP)

Also really missing the midwestern legend “Cowboy” BOBBY CLOYD who played in summa my smalltown post punk and new wave bands back in the 80’s.

“Juneteenth’s only value is if it becomes a day of serious study and political education. That process can start with learning why “Jim Crow Joe” Biden received 90% of the Black vote or why the 2020 rebellions after George Floyd’s murder created a need for the state to placate Black people, if only symbolically. The Civil War is a perfect starting point for this practice. If there is a day off it should be used wisely and well. In the future, all people’s holidays should stay that way. Perhaps they should be kept secret so that commemorations aren’t used to give legitimacy to bad actors. It is too late for Juneteenth, but the hard lesson can be the beginning of something far more valuable.”

(-Margaret Kimberley) “Hard to express how much better US political discourse — and policy — would be if the left had an actual anti-establishment dissident-leader like

@JLMelenchon. But alas, it only has Dem Party loyalists like Bernie and AOC who play-act, then faithfully snap into line.” (-Glenn Greenwald)

“Even though I have some issues with Melenchon, this is a left position. Unlike the pro-U.S. imperialist collaborators & left opportunists we have in the U.S. You know, the ones who believed Russiagate, condemned Assange & get misty eyed when they hear Zelensky.” (-Ajamu Baraka)

“Venezuelan fake president Juan Guaido was attacked the other day, having his clothes ripped off. Only the US could create & continue to support such a clown. Only the US has the hubris to think we can announce a random hack as the president of another country.” (-Lee Camp)

“What a coward Anthony Albanese is. Julian #Assange‘s approved extradition has stirred not a peep from the new PM of Julian’s homeland, where Labor’s doe-eyed believe ‘Albo’ is different in Washington-sucking Canberra. No, he’s not. The killing of #Assange is our final surrender.” (-John Pilger)

“So Marjorie Taylor Greene is standing up for Julian Assange and press freedom while

@AOC

and the squad remain silent. If this doesn’t wake you up to how phony and fake these so-called progressives are then nothing will. #FraudSquad” (-Ryan Knight)

“If I’m Prime Minister on Monday, Julian will be naturalized a French citizen and we will ask for him to be sent to us. Mr. Assange should be decorated for his services to the French people.” (- Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of France’s left coalition NUPES)

“Compare this statement to the complete and absolute silence from

@AOC

 and

@BernieSanders

on Julian Assange. This is what a proper, outspoken left sounds like, not that garbage they give you from the Democratic party.” (-Richard Medhurst)

FREE ASSANGE! RESIST THE HONKY DEATH MACHINE! FIGHT THE POWER!

Man, the empire could care less about freedom, democracy, human rights, the emperor is naked and none of the people I grew up with can even like THINK anymore, they just do and say whatever the tv tells them to, it’s REALLY “Twilight Zone”. They never even freed Leonard Peltier, and it seems these insanely sociopathic ruling class evil oligarchs are hellbent on crucifying Assange, it is sickening to me, that people are still insisting they live in any kind of democracy, when obviously, everything is being done now exclusively to benefit weaponmaker profits, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, Harari and Schwab’s preferences, they own the media, the government, the regulatory agencies, the whole system is corrupt. It’s all a sham, man. The UK media even convinced the public that Corbyn was racist, same way Snaky Liz Warren smeared Sanders as a sexist. Now I don’t think Corbyn is racist and I think Bernie’s a sellout, not a sexist, but tv is a powerful drug, man, it just baffles the sheep into a helpless hypnospell. Black Rock and Vanguard are these obscene monopolies, buying up everything. EVERYTHING. Most people I know have never heard of either company. Like George Carlin said, THE OWNERS want to keep us stupid and have spent the past 25 years dumbing us down. I told myself and my imaginary constituents I was gonna step away from online content generating for awhile, but man, I’m so upset about poor saintly JULIAN ASSANGE, it affects my whole mood. I have to fight for whistleblowers while there is a breath left in my body. I think everybody with any kind of platform should do at least one thing for Assange everyday. He’s sacrificed everything for US Dumb motherfuckers who are fed a nonstop stream of pro war and police state propaganda, because they still impulsively watch legacy media, think they can be LEFTIST and not support ASSANGE, because their soldout, cowardly centrist shitlib politicians refuse to fight for him, and the tv people have slandered him so mercilessly. Hillary said she wanted to drone him-she said that IN PUBLIC and people I know are still peachy keen on her. Not me, man. I’m seeing people on THE RIGHT stepping up to defend ASSANGE, but not your pants suit mimosa brunching heroines of the squad, or fakeass, Biden endorsing, Sanders. BATSHIT! THAT IS BATSHIT! People I used to know are STILL making excuses for BIDEN and blaming TRUMP for everything fuckedup BIDEN does. Sheer madness! Lyn Cheney is a diabolical fascist, she is not your friend-her family privatized endless war by hiring all those proxy armies to topple other people’s governments, they built torture gulags and spy on your phonecalls and grope your granny in the airports but mf’s still think she is their special friend cause Trump said sexist shit to Billy Bush. No shitlibs stopped to ask themselves, why are BUSH relatives embedded in the legacy media. This country is hopeless. One of my activist comrades who was a powerful advocate for houseless people in the Pacific Northwest moved to FRANCE and says Murkkkans would SHIT themselves if they found out how much groovier and free it is there. I hope the Klaus Schwab puppet Macron loses his election, but fear the globalists in charge of the voting software will have it fixed. Nobody in my country besides the banking elites, military industrial complex and big pharma ever wanted Biden, and I’ll never believe he beat Bernie on Super Tuesday in Michigan, but here he is, the “nothing will change” guy, sniffing your daughter’s hair, playing chicken with nukes and allowing corporations to hammer us everyday people senseless with their ruthless price gouging under cover of Covid and their fucking played out “Russiagate!” narratives and Capitol Hill bullshit. Sanders tax the rich platform filled stadiums but he tragically got in line when the higher ups told him to. Won’t even stand up for Assange. PATHETIC! SAD! FRIGHTENING, really. I guess he really was just a sheepdog for the DNC, looks like it’s up to you and me, now.

FACE IT DEBBIE HARRY

I just finished Debbie Harry‘s autobiography that I got for Father’s Day and man it is so good-what a life she had! Did acid with Alan Watts and Timothy Leary.  Living on Saint Mark’s Place in the sixties, going to the Dom to see the Velvets, hangin’ out with the Dolls, friends with Basquiat and Burroughs, muse of Warhol, brushing with Ali and Dahli, she waited on Miles at Max’s! Acted in “HAIRSPRAY”, John Waters best movie! Made her own clothes, lived by her own rules, did drugs, had sex, explored every kind of underground culture, helped invent punk rock and new wave. Took Duran on tour. Sacrificed her career to care for her loved one, something that she shrugs off as no big deal, just because she is a thoroughly decent and sincere, loving human being in a time when most people only give a fuck about their own money, property, fame or prestige. She basically did everything they torture and punish people for in the flyover states-she was a true trailblazing, hell raising, punk bohemian from way back! I love her! BLONDIE are still so great! Clem is probably my fave drummer. She’s so groovy, such a dream. Overcame all kinds of harrowing horrors and horrific experiences, and still shines bright from the inside out. Chris Stein did some production work for legendary Canadian rock star, Chris Barry from 39 Steps. None of these awful fucking McDonna mockingbird media mk ultra beta kitten techno hookers forced on us against our will nowadays can even hold a candle to her, man. She’s like 76 or something and she is still utterly fucking ATOMIC!

FLESH FOR LULU

It’s crazy listening to all the old music in these dark times cause even eighties bands we considered poppy lightweight fluff back in the day had so much better content than the toxic phony bullshit they hurl towards us nowadays. Can you imagine a rock group saying this kinda stuff getting ANY airplay now? Forget about it!

Me n Nick were Myspace pals and correspondents for years when I’d become primary caregiver of my two middle children and brought my older teenager into the house, but was still trying to get a little record deal on an indie label, and he even offered to let my tiny little, nobody band open for some dates when he and Rocco had scheduled like I dunno-a dozen reunion shows here in the states. A former bandmate put the ixnay on the opportunity, cause he was in several other bands already and kinda just probably spread himself too thin, already, which was always very sad to me cause I always looked up to Nick and Rocco, and had been a devoted fan of theirs from a young age. He’s another one of those blinding bright comets that you just always wish was still here with us “in the flesh”. I keep his wife and daughters in my prayers. We miss ya, Nick. I encouraged him to blow the cobwebs offa this old deep track and he brought it outta mothballs and started playing it again. (RIP) NICK

KARL ROVE BRAGGED ABOUT IT BACK IN THE 9/11 ERA-HOW THEY ARE AN EMPIRE NOW AND CAN ENFORCE ANY FALSE REALITY THEY WANT….

In October 2004, journalist Ron Suskind wrote a first-person article for The New York Times about the presidency of 43rd U.S. President George W. Bush, in which he included a grandiose quote from someone described only as a “senior adviser to Bush.”

Many have assumed the comment was made by Bush political adviser Karl Rove, though there isn’t any publicly available evidence to that effect. Here is what Suskind wrote:

The aide said that guys like me were “in what we call the reality-based community,” which he defined as people who “believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.” I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. “That’s not the way the world really works anymore,” he continued. “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

WIKILEAKS BREAKING: UK Home Secretary approves extradition of WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange to the US where he would face a 175 year sentence – A dark day for Press freedom and for British democracy The decision will be appealed.

MATERIAL ISSUE

Man, I remember the suckshit nineties when it all started going downhill, ya know for a few years, big record labels just signed so much horrible shit, post Nirvana, I really do feel like they were trying to assassinate real rocknroll systemically. In all the even medium sized cities, all these franchise clone tribute acts killed any kind of genuine music scenes with their high school social jockeying richkid reindeer games and sadly derivative, second hand, trust fund garbage-rawk. One band from that time that was writing standout, standup, REAL HEARTFELT POP music, the likes of which we never seem to hear anymore were Material Issue, who were too good for this world. Of course their genius singer songwriter, JIM ELLISON killed himself over a loveless chick. (RIP)

They don’t write ’em like this no more:

THEY WROTE FROM THE HEART!

GARY SUNSHINE

My ace best pals and me used to follow CIRCUS OF POWER around as kids, I mean we’d drive fifteen hours to see ’em, no sweat, just loved their music and whole vibe really. They were like our Doors or Stones. They were all really nice to us, too, which was thrilling, cause at least a couple of us were much hated Edward Scissorhands outcasts in the hick town where we grew up. Meant a lot when some cool older rocknroll dudes kinda went outta their way to talk to us and ask us sensitive questions and let us drink backstage with ’em. Then they stroll out on stage and tear the damn place down. FREAK SOCIETY! Now Gary writes songs like a cross between Tom Petty and Paul Westerberg, lives in the midwest, plays intimate gigs at pizza places and bars, sometimes accompanied by his teenage daughter who sings. He guest starred on a recent CIRCUS OF POWER tune called “Magic Gator Boogie”. Ryan sadly passed away, Ricky is still in L.A., I think he sells guitars. No idea whatever happened to Zowie, but if you do, hit me up. You can find Gary on Facebook.

Our Men in Iran? | The New Yorker

It is perfectly obvious by now, to anyone who cares to look, that mainstream media in America and the other Western powers are not reporting the Ukraine crisis accurately.

Let me try that another way: The government-supervised New York Times and the rest of the corporate-owned media on both sides of the Atlantic lie routinely to their readers and viewers as to why Russia intervened in Ukraine, the progress of its military operation, the conduct of Ukrainian forces, and America’s role in purposely provoking and prolonging this crisis.

So far as I know, this is the first war in modern history with no objective, principled coverage in mainstream media of day-to-day events and their context. None. It is morn-to-night propaganda, disinformation and lies of omission — most of it fashioned by the Nazi-infested Zelensky regime in Kiev and repeated uncritically as fact.

There is one thing worse than this degenerate state of affairs. It is the extent to which the media’s malpractice is perfectly fine to most Americans. Tell us what to think and believe no matter if it is true, they say, and we will think and believe it. Show us some pictures, for images are all.

There are larger implications to consider here. Critical as it is that we understand this conflict, Ukraine is a mirror in which we see ourselves as we have become. For more Americans than I wish were so, reality forms only in images. These Americans are no longer occupants of their own lives. Risking a paradox, what they take to be reality is detached from reality.

This majority — and it is almost certainly a majority — has no thoughts or views except those first verified through the machinery of manufactured images and “facts.” Television screens, the pages of purportedly authoritative newspapers, the air waves of government-funded radio stations — NPR, the BBC — serve to certify realities that do not have to be real, truths that do not have to be true.

This leaves us in a sad and very parlous place.

Sad: Is there some state more pitiful than having no genuine connection to one’s own thoughts, perceptions, experience—altogether to one’s life? If Americans are not a profoundly sad people behind all the smiles we see in advertising, idiotic comedy shows, and on Facebook, then I must be missing something.

Parlous: Over the course of some decades — from the mid–Cold War years, I would say — Americans have been rendered highly vulnerable to the manipulations of those who control the images through which most people have come to live. Anyone who has read a history of the 20th century knows where this can lead.

The five weeks that have passed since the Russian intervention on Feb. 24 have been shocking on both these counts. The derelictions of the press and broadcasters are without precedent in my lifetime, and with Vietnam, the Iraq War, and the covert operation in Syria among the wreckage in the rearview mirror, this is saying something.

I will let the American public’s enthusiasm for the sinkhole that is Ukraine, the Azov Battalion, and the ridiculous posturing of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the comedian who is no longer funny, speak for itself.

JUKEBOX JURY’S IN DELIBERATION

I dunno how I feel about these guys really, it’s mixed cause obviously they can PLAY and I get why Dweezil Zappa and the Van Halen News Desk love ’em, they share some of the same influences and style as me and my teenage cohorts, but what is it? I can’t quite put my finger on it, just for me, it feels like something’s missing, just hard not to smile when I hear these guys singing about the real nitty gritty with all their slickness and fancy shit. But def. worth mentioning.

The eleven-year persecution of Julian Assangewas extended and escalated on Friday morning. The British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, approved the U.S.’s extradition request to send Julian Assange to Virginia to stand trial on eighteen felony charges under the 1917 Espionage Act and other statutes in connection with the 2010 publication by WikiLeaks of thousands of documents showing widespread corruption, deceit, and war crimes by American and British authorities along with their close dictatorial allies in the Middle East.

This decision is unsurprising — it has been obvious for years that the U.S. and UK are determined to destroy Assange as punishment for his journalism exposing their crimes — yet it nonetheless further highlights the utter sham of American and British sermons about freedom, democracy and a free press. Those performative self-glorifying spectacles are constantly deployed to justify these two countries’ interference in and attacks on other nations, and to allow their citizens to feel a sense of superiority about the nature of their governments. After all, if the U.S. and UK stand for freedom and against tyranny, who could possibly oppose their wars and interventions in the name of advancing such lofty goals and noble values?

Having reported on the Assange case for years, on countless occasions I’ve laid out the detailed background that led Assange and the U.S. to this point. There is thus no need to recount all of that again; those interested can read the granular trajectory of this persecution here or here. Suffice to say, Assange — without having been convicted of any crime other than bail jumping, for which he long ago served out his fifty-week sentence — has been in effective imprisonment for more than a decade.

In 2012, Ecuador granted Assange legal asylum from political persecution. It did so after the Swedish government refused to pledge that it would not exploit the WikiLeaks founder’s travel to Sweden to answer sex assault accusations as a pretext to turn him over to the U.S. Fearing what of course ended up happening — that the U.S. was determined to do everything possible to drag Assange back to U.S. soil despite his not being a U.S. citizen and never having spent more than a few days on U.S. soil, and intending to pressure their long-time-submissive Swedish allies to turn him over once he was on Swedish soil — the government of Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa concluded Assange’s core civic rights were being denied and thus gave him refuge in the tiny Ecuadorian Embassy in London: the classic reason political asylum exists.

When Trump officials led by CIA Director Mike Pompeo bullied Correa’s meek successor, ex-President Lenin Moreno, to withdraw that asylum in 2019, the London Police entered the embassy, arrested Assange, and put him in the high-security Belmarsh prison (which the BBC in 2004 dubbed “the British Guantanamo”), where he has remained ever since.

After the lowest-level British court in early 2021 rejected the U.S. extradition request on the ground that Assange’s physical and mental health could not endure the U.S. prison system, Assange has lost every subsequent appeal. Last year, he was permitted to marry his long-time girlfriend, the British human rights lawyer Stella Morris Assange, who is also the mother of their two young children. An extremely unusual unanimity among press freedom and civil liberties groups was formed in early 2021 to urge the Biden administration to cease its prosecution of Assange, but Biden officials — despite spending the Trump years masquerading as press freedom advocates — ignored them (an interview conducted last week with Stella Assange by my husband, the Brazilian Congressman David Miranda, on Brazil’s Press Freedom Day, regarding the latest developments and toll this has taken on the Assange family, can be seen here).

The Home Secretary’s decision this morning — characteristically subservient and obedient of the British when it comes to the demands of the U.S. — does not mean that Assange’s presence on U.S. soil is imminent. Under British law, Assange has the right to pursue a series of appeals contesting the Home Secretary’s decision, and will likely do so. Given that the British judiciary has more or less announced in advance their determination to follow the orders of their American masters, it is difficult to see how these further proceedings will have any effect other than to delay the inevitable.

But putting oneself in Assange’s position, it is easy to see why he is so eager to avoid extradition to the U.S. for as long as possible. The Espionage Act of 1917 is a nasty and repressive piece of legislation. It was designed by Woodrow Wilson and his band of authoritarian progressives to criminalize dissent against Wilson’s decision to involve the U.S. in World War I. It was used primarily to imprison anti-war leftists such as Eugene Debs, as well as anti-war religious leaders such as Joseph Franklin Rutherford for the crime of publishing a book condemning Wilson’s foreign policy.

One of the most insidious despotic innovations of the Obama administration was to repurpose and revitalize the Wilson-era Espionage Act as an all-purpose weapon to punish whistleblowers who denounced Obama’s policies. The Obama Justice Department under Attorney General Eric Holder prosecuted more whistleblowers under the Espionage Act of 1917 than all previous administrations combined — in fact, three times as many as all prior presidents combined. One whistleblower charged by Obama officials under that law is NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, who in 2013 revealed mass domestic spying of precisely the kind that Obama’s Director of National Intelligence James Clapper (now of CNN) falsely denied conducting when testifying to the Senate, which led to legislative curbs enacted by the U.S. Congress, and which courts have ruled unconstitutional and illegal.

What makes this law so insidious is that, by design, it is almost impossible for the government to lose. As I detailed in Washington Post op-ed when the indictment was first revealed — arguing why it poses the greatest threat to press freedoms in the West in years — this 1917 law is written as a “strict liability” statute, meaning that the defendant is not only guilty as soon as there is proof that they disclosed classified information without authorization, but they are also barred from raising a “justification” defense — meaning they cannot argue to the jury of their peers that it was not only permissible but morally necessary to disclose that information because of the serious wrongdoing and criminality it revealed on the part of the nation’s most powerful political officials. That 1917 law, in other words, is written to offer only show trials but not fair trials. No person in their right mind would willingly submit to prosecution and life imprisonment in the harshest American penitentiaries under an indictment brought under this fundamentally corrupted law.

Whatever else one might think of Assange, there is simply no question that he is one of the most consequential, pioneering, and accomplished journalists of his time. One could easily make the case that he occupies the top spot by himself. And that, of course, is precisely why he is in prison: because, just like free speech, “free press” guarantees in the U.S. and UK exist only on a piece of parchment and in theory. Citizens are free to do “journalism” as long as it does not disturb or anger or impede real power centers. Employees of The Washington Post and CNN are “free” to say what they want as long as what they are saying is approved and directed by the CIA or the content of their “reporting” advances the interests of the Pentagon’s sprawling war machine.

Real journalists often face threats of prosecution, imprisonment or even murder, and sometimes even mean tweets. Much of the American corporate media class has ignored Assange’s persecution or even cheered it precisely because he shames them, serving as a vivid mirror to show them what real journalism is and how they are completely bereft of it. And the American and British governments have successfully exploited the petty jealousies and insecurities of their failed, vapid and pointless media servants to get away with imposing the single greatest threat to press freedom in the West without much protest at all.

Free speech and press freedoms do not exist in reality in the U.S. or the UK. They are merely rhetorical instruments to propagandize their domestic population and justify and ennoble the various wars and other forms of subversion they constantly wage in other countries in the name of upholding values they themselves do not support. The Julian Assange persecution is a great personal tragedy, a political travesty and a grave danger to basic civic freedoms. But it is also a bright and enduring monument to the fraud and deceit that lies at the heart of these two governments’ depictions of who and what they are. (-GLENN GREENWALD)

The video podcast The First 50 Gigs is the creation of  Reckless Road: Guns N’ Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction authors Marc Canter and Jason PorathThe book which was published in 2008 and won an IPPY for Pop Culture Book of the Year was just the tip of the iceberg of an archive created by Marc Canter; photographer, music historian, and owner of the world-famous Canter’s Deli. Canter captured the band’s formative years and the heyday of the Sunset Strip music scene. The project was designed as a gift to fans to unlock the stories behind the most famous songs from the ever-elusive band, in particular the younger fans, many of whom were not even born when Appetite came out. It’s an opportunity for them to learn about the stories behind the making of Appetite For Destruction.  The show which is part of the Pantheon Podcast network is available on all major services, with premium tiered subscription offers available on Spotify and Patreon

The First 50 Gigs project has been years in the making, “Marc’s massive and one-of-a-kind archive on the early days of Guns N’ Roses and the first fifty gigs of the Appetite lineup of Guns N’ Roses is unprecedented,” says Porath. “ Marc truly captured lightning in a bottle and the power of those images he and Jack Lue created will now be amplified by first-hand accounts by the people who were there, giving audiences a true play-by-play unfolding of events.”  The video version of the show showcases never before seen audio and video from Marc’s archive, along with bonus episodes available via subscription on Spotify, and a premium subscription via Patreon that includes early access to the video version of each episode, along with access to exclusive photo galleries, merchandise giveaways and more.

The exhibit at the Bourbon Room will feature photos, videos, and ephemera featured in the podcast in addition to never before seen content from the early years of Guns n’ Roses leading into the recording of their first and most iconic album.

Lorne Behrman releases first single from debut album “A Little Midnight”

The “A Little Midnight” single is a slice of dirty rock n’ roll scrapped off of the streets of the Bowery with an introspective heart from the artist who previously played in The Dimestore Haloes, L.E.S. Stitches, The Dead Tricks and most recently The Sweet Things. “The moonlight looks on good you/Not darkness just silver blue/A little midnight/it’s alright/A little midnight/does you right,” sings LORNE on the song.

A LITTLE MIDNIGHT is a 10-song collection is a series of New York City vignettes haunted by shadows but guided by light. The words here are literate and lacerating, recalling the street poetics of Lou Reed, Richard Hell, and Television. The songs feature stark and fluid guitar playing in the spirit of The StoogesJames Williamson, Johnny Thunders, and Lou Reed.

“This album is about struggling to be reborn,” LORNE shares. “Wanting to run back to the arms of toxic people or the patterns of self-destruction. It’s about clawing your way to a new existence while acknowledging all the causalities, and all you’re letting go. You glimpse a new life, but you don’t feel it yet.”

The album’s raw but polished production aesthetic is courtesy of producer Matt Chiaravalle (Warren Zevon, Joe Bonamassa, Spacehog). A LITTLE MIDNIGHT was mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Joe Lambert. Wyldlife bassist Spencer Alexander designed the album artwork, and it is a subtly playful homage to the cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Damn the Torpedoes.

The track listing for A LITTLE MIDNIGHT is:

01 – Love Stumbles By
02 – Harlem River Serenade
03 – I Can Burn You Down
04 – Monday Morning
05 – Well, I Can’t Hold You
06 – A Little Midnight
07 – You Wont Live In This Past
08 – I Hope The Sun Doesn’t Catch Us
09 – Black Cars
10 – Further On Down The Road

The Sweet Things “Brown Leather”

New York rock’n’roll band The SWEET THINGS are getting back to the roots of rock’n’roll with this new album recorded at Fame Recording studios (ARETHA FRANKLIN , OTIS REDDING, WILSON PICKETT…) Opening song “Brown Leather” sounds as ROLLING STONES as you would have expected from its title. Then, It’s a bit surprising to hear “Ya Know I Don’t Mind” in second position since it’s a slow country blues song but next song “Ride It Home” offers us some good ol’ QUIREBOYS energy. The country influence is quite strong on songs like “Keep On Movin” or “Familiar Faces” but songs like “Cold Feet” or “Mentholated Blues” remind me more of the spirit of early BLACK CROWES. “It Hurts Me Too” and “Ride The River” will take you to the roots of Mississippi blues and you’ll also get an IZZY STRADLIN vibe while listening to “Problematic Life.” This album is a cure for anyone sick of modern auto-tuned music! /Laurent C.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and—in spite of True Romance magazines—we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely—at least, not all the time—but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

“If journalism is good, it is controversial, by its nature.”  (-Julian Assange)

“My Australian husband Julian Assange is fighting for his life from within the confines of a three-by-two-metre cell in Britain’s harshest prison, Belmarsh.

The US has accused him of espionage as a result of his work with WikiLeaks in 2010-2011 and wants to extradite him to face court.

If his extradition goes ahead, Julian faces a maximum 175-year prison sentence. As his wife, I fear he will be buried in the deepest, darkest corner of the US prison system until he dies.

During another extradition hearing last year a UK magistrate blocked Julian’s transfer to the US over fears of “oppressive” conditions that could drive him to take his life.

On July 3, Julian turns 51. It will be the fourth year he has spent his birthday alone in a cell, without conviction.” (-Stella Morris)

“Russia is at war with NATO, Ukraine is just the country that NATO chose to have destroyed and for the people to die in.” (-Black In The Empire)

“Capitalism crashed 3 times before I turned 30 despite stealing the resources of other countries but capitalists still are arrogant and believe their system works This is why I say U.S. is the most propagandized country in the world. Insane how they pulled this off.” (-Revolutionary Blackout Network)

“Efforts to stomp out anti-imperialist voices were already getting creepy as fuck before we saw hard evidence of media figures conspiring with spooks to do so. This is a whole new level of creepy.” (-Caitlin Johnstone)

“This is just weird and creepy. Why are they all posting identical language about how proud they are to work at the Washington Post, like from a script handed down by a cult leader?” (-Glenn Greenwald)

“This is a joke! The White House on Tuesday insisted that “global challenges” such as the conflict in Ukraine, and not President Joe Biden’s policies, are to blame for soaring inflation in the US. But Biden’s decision last March to support war created the conflict in Ukraine!” (-Ajamu Baraka)

“Israel’s new rules, set to go into effect next month, will require Palestinians to apply 45 days in advance to visit relatives in the West Bank. If approved, if while there they become romantically involved with someone, they must inform the Israeli government in writing.” (-Ariel Gold)

“That was just the start. You all know the other scandals: the “moderate rebels” that turn out to be head-chopping Al Qaeda miniatures, the “WMDs”… and one of the biggest lies: the sanctions. People are suffering from Western sanctions like crazy. Think they’ll show that on TV?” (-Richard Medhurst)

“The greatest trick capitalism ever pulled was convincing people that we are free when we are ruled by corporations, billionaires, and the corrupt politicians who do their bidding. Our rulers coerced us to give up our freedom and obey the very system that’s rigged against us.” (-Ryan Knight)

GUNFIRE DANCE

Mic Check! Hello my brothers and sisters and friends of the revolution, I’m just feeling deeply melancholy and sentimental today and scrolling through the ole Youtubes looking for some kinda comfort and consolation from the sweet sweet sounds of yesteryear’s rocknroll. One of my fave bands from my wild, wild youth were Gunfire Dance, they just meant so much to me and all my likeminded friends. Their album is gonna be re-released on vinyl this year and I can’t wait! I was at this show. Where are all the real rocknroll people at? Half my band went and joined a New Bomb Turks hot rod h/c band, and the other half went and joined a power pop band before quitting music and becoming professionals. I don’t blame ’em cause I never had no money for hotel rooms or plane tickets, or to hire slick producers or pay for studio time or mastering. I did have a lotta good songs, though. I still wanna rock, I can still get down like we used to. I’m gonna try to take some time off from the music/journalism thing after this column cause I’ve been neglecting other more important areas of my life and I’m not that sure anybody really reads my lengthy tirades anyhow, one old pal said something to me about how I’ve been unspooling the same old story for years that gave me pause, but I also see how he aint a rarin’ to retire himself yet, so yeah, this’ll probably be my last column for awhile but I’m linking to several online indie news sources you can continue to check in on, in my absence like, Black Agenda Report, Activist Post, Jacobin, Mint Press, Antiwar.com, and Consortium News-all the off script anti war sites being attacked by the billionaires and the warpigs. It’s not like my swan song or anything, I just need to develop some new habits. One thing I loved about the Manic Street Preachers is how they realized at some point after they got rich and shit, they just had so much access to studiotime, they were kinda flooding the market with some soft, ho-hum, mediocre product, at risk of becoming saynothing richman U2 hitmakers, so they decided to take some time off, saying their fans deserved a break from them. That’s where I’ve arrived when it comes to writing about the good old music and leftist politics online. You know the old Billy Bragg lyric, “mixing pop and politics, he asks me what the use is, I offer him embarrassment and my usual excuses, you can be active with the activists or sleeping with the sleepers…” I wanna form a rock group that matters, even in my elderly, convalescent goth years. A riot of my own, a says something band that rocks approximately as hard as this:

“If I had five million pounds I’d start a radio station because something needs to be done. It would be nice to turn on the radio and hear something that didn’t make you feel like smashing up the kitchen and strangling the cat.”

ROCK CITY ANGEL

In the summertime, I generally gravitate to “Diver Down”, and “Smash Hits” magazine eighties new wave, but you might know I do have some sleaze rock tendencies. I still love Four Horsemen, Zodiac Mindwarp, Hangmen, and Rock City Angels. As a Teenage Lipstick Boy myself, I used ta be a longtime correspondent of the late great Bobby Durango, always liked Ringo Jukes, too. Bobby’s mom wrote me a thank you note for summa the liner notes I penned for them. One of my very favorite Rock City Angels songs was “MARY” which was apparently co written with my fellow Kentuckian, Maker’s Mark sipping, newsboy hat wearin’ Johnny Depp, before he quit their band to appear on 21 Jump Street. Bobby said when they were composing it together, Johnny warned Bobby that his lick was too dark, and Bobby memorably said, “no such thing”. You might know that JIMMY JAMES, one of the best guitarists in the USA! USA! also played in Rock City Angels. I listened to Johnny’s new song, ya know, I thought it was okay, but nowhere near as good as “MARY”. “Once I had a love…”

“Amazing: there’s a panel entitled “How to fix toxic discourse and misinformation”: starring the top editors of two of the media outlets that did the most to spread the CIA’s pre-election lie that the Hunter Biden laptop was “Russian disinformation”: Politico and The Intercept.  The corporate outlets that most vocally accuse others of “disinformation” are the ones which spread it most aggressively and recklessly. ” (-Glenn Greenwald)

WELCOME TO THE LOVE CLUB, BABY

Somedays,  I think about all the good times we used to have in our twenties when we were young and crazy, really miss those places we used to go and dance all night and all the righteous real rocknroll people we used to know. I’m tired, pissedoff, experiencing some crazy from the heat self pity today, ya know that all the fuckedup family holidays that roll by, always seem like torture or punishment to me, I flatout motherfucking hate ’em-all these freaking fake as fook drunk uncle, coolers fulla beer, long table, loudmouth floozy/rich man holidays, mostly just cause I live at the bottom of this society, ya know, frequently been under boot of the richman’s gestapo enforcers, in a winner takes all, no mercy, backstab capitalist culture where either you have the money, or fuck you, jack, you probably won’t even be hearing nothing from your own flesh and blood loved ones, people in the unreality show I-phone age just straight up follow the money, stick with the bigshot haves on the hill in the big houses, go where the party goes, no matter who’s got the bread, usually somebody’s drunk high school friend’s rich husband, that’s who everybody gonna be toasting, at the latenight wingding at the rolling estate, ya know what I’m sayin’? Barowners, fourth hand fake-famous people. DJ’s from the fancy class. Mansion dwellers. Jet-setters. Ruthless shit grabbers. In harrowingly depressing times like these, I’ve been starving for some real rocknroll kicks, it’s been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonley time, in the words of that one guy. Lately I’ve been revisiting the underground musical legacy of the great Boston punknroll/sleazemetal vocalist, JAMIE SEVER, with much gratitude and appreciation. That guy just had the stuff and all his wildly cool bands were awesomely good, real divebar sleazy rocknroll! Thanks for your service, brothers. Hats off to ’em, they don’t really make ’em like this, no more. It’s a lost motherfuckin’ art. Chrissie Hynde has a great tune that goes, “no, they just don’t make ’em like they used to…you shoulda just stuck with me…” that kinda always pierces the corporate media blare and lands straight into the heart of me. I’ll never know what happened to the rest of the kids-they all seemed to get filled up with alot of “Amurkkkan Idol” bullshittery and navel gazing studies at the sports university, and trains on time gatekeeper deskjobs, and soulless Spin magazine richkid drug-techno, people I grew up with, they seemingly ended up spending all their freetime being programmed by rich people, idle heiress unreality shows. Going to festivals with other sports patriot/gentrified people willing to pay $1000 to stand around in the hot sun with their I-Phone listening to robot muzak. I’m old fashioned, I still love the basic, get down, from the heart, tear it up rocknroll and feel a responsibility to resist all the one percent dollar worshipper’s silencing techniques and trickery/treachery clampdowns on free speech. I’m with Jimmy Dore and David Swanson and Caitlin Johnstone and Susan Sarandon, ya dig? If you are to become a media professional in this era of weaponized propaganda/infotainment, you gotta be willing to stay in your box, be on-script, read the teleprompter, recite the narrative, like Obama and Rachel Maddow. Why do middle class college people believe that tv heads overpaid millions by the one percent monopoly owners are real journalists? Why does anybody ever, ever, ever listen to that awful Amurkkan Idolized garbage muzak? I dunno, man. “It’s gotta be rocknroll music if you wanna dance with me.” (RIP) BIg-Mitch and Mr. Butch!

SNATCHES OF PINK

The fates and angels really smiled upon this comrade, Michael Rank who is like God’s own raggedy troubadour, he is such a badass renaissance man, a designer, a poet, a father, a farmer, a ballet dancer, a badass guitar player, a helluva good songwriter, a keeper of goats. “LOVE IS DEAD” is really an exceptional, standout work of art and would have been a hit in almost any other era. Summa his solo stuff is like old school, vintage, “Black & Blue” seventies soul.  Like Curtis Mayfield and Gil Scott Heron, Issac Hayes and Prince. His talent level blows pretty much everybody elses outta the water. I love all his stuff-Snatches, Clarissa, Stag, “Coral”. it’s the kinda rocknroll you can put on and like, paint to. If you aint that hip to him, I’d say start with, “Send In The Clowns” and “Bent With Pray”, that’s where I started when I was in my early twenties. “Another Love”, “I Fell In Love With You Tonight”. All his music is high level rocknroll, like, The Rolling Stones, just a real gypsy prince motherfucker. I love him and consider him a friend. Diamond geezer. (RIP) Sarah Romweber.

WHAT WE WERE LISTENING TO

during all that wretched grunge/alternative bullshit was Beasts Of Bourbon, Coma-Tones, Gunfire Dance, and Pillbox, mostly. And these guys. I really want that Beggar’s Banquet box set, it is rare and expensive, though. My dead friend Shane Williams used to always say that, “Sex, Drugs & Rocknroll is still the answer!”

“Like most others, I was a seeker, a mover, a malcontent, and at times a stupid hell-raiser. I was never idle long enough to do much thinking, but I felt somehow that some of us were making real progress, that we had taken an honest road, and that the best of us would inevitably make it over the top. At the same time, I shared a dark suspicion that the life we were leading was a lost cause, that we were all actors, kidding ourselves along on a senseless odyssey. It was the tension between these two poles – a restless idealism on one hand and a sense of impending doom on the other – that kept me going.”
― Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary

When I hear this rock group, I remember…!

KEVIN JUNIOR

I remember receiving this cd in the mail in the early 90’s and not really giving it much of a listen at first just cause I was already into another group called Mystery Girls-no, not the “Ash In Drag” lot, or the In The Red act who did not come along until much, much later, but an Indianaoplis glam gang from the eighties hairspray daze who looked like The Black Crowes, probably even before The Black Crowes did and played like, Arthur Lee covers and shit. They were also known back in the day as TOO COOL, cause they really were. I could not find much record of ’em ever existing online but they used to be regular features of my shitty late 80’s fanzines. Anyways, over time, the Rose Hips and Chamber Strings gradually grew on me, I have an old letter from KJ hanging on the wall in my rehearsal room. This is his early rock band. If you know what happened to those Too Cool Indianapolis MYSTERY GIRLS guys, you should let me know.

JASMINE MINKS 1987

Would it surprise you at all to hear my newest fixation is from 1987? Somehow I missed this band, back in the day, but while reading a Manic Street Preachers book, “Nailed To History”, I noted they were devoted fans, and since I’m enduring a smoky, boring, triple digit heatwave, when it’s just too fucking hot to go on a walk today, I started youtubing different stuff and wow, man. SO FAB! YEAH! It all started with me looking for a band called the Favors who wrote one of the more exceptional songs I heard in the 00’s, called, “Leave L.A. Alone.” That one, and “Superstar” by American Heartbreak” and “Calling All Destroyers” by TSAR were big faves of mine, back then. I just freakin’ loved that Favors song, but dammit-now it’s gone, cause I never got it on a record or CD, it aint on youtube, it’s like I just imagined it. Battling ennui and depression, on these insanely hot days of nothing to do, ya know you find yourself diggin’ for buried treasures, revisiting the also-rans.  I got pulled into some Edwin Collins and Long Ryders. Next thing I know, I’m in the Jasmine Minks rabbithole, set wayback dials for 87…

A SHIT-LIB IS A CABLE HOODWINKED HAVE, WHO SEES HARD FACTS AND FILTERS THEM OUT AS FAKE NEWS OR RUSSIA PROPAGANDA, BLAMES SARANDON.

Biden Hikes Medicare Prices, Funnels Profits to Insurers (levernews.com)

Margaret Kimberly from Black Agenda Report opines: “The United States is still the country with the world reserve currency and 800 military bases around the world. This power is never used for the benefit of humanity. The drive to dominate never ends, and people throughout the planet are expected to go along and suffer due to American whims.

That is what the U.S. told the people of Venezuela, who had the gall to elect and re-elect left wing governments. The Trump administration demanded “maximum pressure” against Venezuela, enacting harsh sanctions that killed 50,000 people, cutting off access to foreign markets and even choosing to recognize a phony president.

But a funny thing happened on the way to destroying Russia. The Europeans who go along like good little vassals still need oil, and according to reports the U.S. has decided to allow Venezuela to sell some of its resources to their puppets in their time of need. The U.S. whiplashes from trying to punish one country, to lifting their punishments on another, while telling others they have to starve and just be quiet about it.

While the Congressional Black Caucuses (CBC) takes part in fairy tales about “malign Russian influence,” Africans are taking matters into their own hands and talking directly with Putin. They know they must ignore U.S. dictates if they are to survive. Of course Russia will ultimately create its own payment system with African countries, just as it did with China.

Meanwhile Russian victories in Ukraine continue. The Ukrainian counter attacks that have become a staple of corporate media are mostly imaginary, more grist for the war propaganda mill. Joe Biden undermines himself by blurting out that Ukraine may have to negotiate a settlement, while also announcing that the U.S. will keep sending money and military equipment.

The U.S. is once again undermining itself. An empire in crisis will inevitably behave irrationally. It demands control but creates the circumstances which undo the very systems, such as SWIFT, that it depends upon. But there will be more meetings with Putin, and more countries saying that they will not undermine themselves because Washington asks them to.”

FUCK BONO…I CAN’T BELIEVE THE NEWS TODAY… (no, really…)

When I was a klutzy little, pasty white, new wave fop in bad glasses, skeleton earrings, a busted, bloody lip, and big, black velvet bolero hats from ENZS on Saint Mark’s Place, I remember the CIA fortunate sons in the POLICE had a catchy little fake punk song, called, “Truth Hits Everybody”. I think truth started kicking my ass way before most of my former peergroups because I read books and also I did not have their insulation. By 95, all the civilians and Standard Amurkkkan Dream TV believers had flooded into what was formerly a college music and post punk underground. I could no longer find work doing stuff I was good at like say, writing about music, cause I was always refusing to say all that corporate alternative shit and poser richkid tribute rawk was any good, plus the music magazines had folded under media consolidation and the people who used to write for like Creem and Rolling Stone were all stepping down into the entertainment weeklies I had columns in, and they were willing to be on script about whatever music was being hyped by big business, whereas I was seen as contrarian/reactionary/unreliable, like I was supposed to get on board the whole, “We totally take Britney and Ricky Martin and Posh Spice and Taylor Swift seriously” thing, and I just was not. These so called music people who booked shows and owned cd stores and stuff were always goin’ on and on about Beck, Meg White, and Julian Casablancas, ehhh. Me and Bill Holdship fell out on Falsebook years ago over Lady Gaga. I just did not believe he actually loves and respects that “artist”. All these old dudes who’ve been exposed to real music for decades waxing all impressed about Marian Carey or Nikki Minaj or whatever, I always think they only say that kinda shit for the advertiser money. I used to wanna puke when my former record store cohorts who were teenagers in the sixties and seventies would pretend to be captivated by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or whoever just as an excuse to talk to younger females, ya know what I’m sayin’? I’m more distressed about the class war than I am on the culture war. But yeah.

Where I live now there aint no fake music assholes who got an inheritance and opened an overpriced record store, but there are still greedheads. Mostly these airbandb development landlordly type people and retirement aged shysters who source the town’s lone second hand store for like old vests and shit that they then charge between $25-55 for at their ripoff main drag tourist boutiques, always has been a resentment of mine-when wealthier people ransack the poor people’s second hand thrift stores to rip people off at their posh second hand boutiques. All the ancient retirees are looking forward to some outta town married couple who have a whacky, zaney techno duo where they dress all spacey, dude plays a sax and wife raps and sings and faux scratches and plays DJ beats real loud with flashing lights. Like Burning Man people., coming to town for one night only, yippie-yahoo. I don’t go ’round people.

I was not into any of the fake rap/illuminati Dizney pop, or boybands or Masonic namebrand capitalist rappers. Skrillex, Beck, Moby, Pauly D, I just never got in to any of that techno-culture, might be something to do with taking drugs and fist pumping at big festivals or Vegas hotel swimming pools fulla gold necklace douchelords that appeals to some people, does not appeal to me-even Primal Scream’s acidhouse whatever, I never got it, ‘”whoo wha whoo”, sounded to me like other people’s songs “remixed” and “sampled”. Ehh, I just never got it. I’m not gonna say some boyband or dorky white rapper are geniuses, cause they sampled somebody elses chorus and talked some shit on top of it. That’s Rob Sheffield’s paycheck, not mine, man. I was no longer able to work at goth boutiques or record stores in the nineties cause all these normie, mainstream college kids wanted those gigs, so ya know, I resumed dishwashing for many decades. Later in life, I started seeing all these good journalists and people of triple source integrity getting purged from mass media for not being sufficiently pro war, or for deviating from preferred Pentagon narratives. PHIL DONAHUE and JESSE VENTURA and MIKE GRAVEL and RALPH NADER were slandered, de-platformed, fired from the networks and blacklisted from Big 5 media, while all the spooks, lobbyist agents of foreign governments like Chertoff and Blitzer and CIA propagandists like Cooper and Maddow replaced anyone who was anti-war and pro human rights and civil liberties.

BAMBOOZLED AND HOODWINKED

The knowledge I have now is not the knowledge I had then.

Stokely Carmichael

BONO and Penn and Clooney and Jolie and many others became shills for empire. The NWO-Great Reset-Agenda 21 rumors were not empty conspiranoia. Michael Hastings who wrote about generals for Rolling Stone died in a blazing ball of fire. People like William Cooper, Gary Webb, Paul Wellstone, Ted Gunderson, Seth Rich, and Dr. David Kelly are murdered by the empire, but check cashing shitlibs don’t wanna know. Few of my past acquaintances who think of themselves as scholars and academics have even contemplated the vague and distant, hypothetical, abstract notion they might have been lied to about 9/11 or the Kennedys. Let alone, any of these more recent wars and clampdowns. Personally, I stay outta most culture war diversions, cause I recognize that the wedge issues and preference enforcement agendas are just tools used by the super rich to appease their enforcement (R cops, spies, alphabet gangs, military) and gatekeeper (D bureaucrat, media mockingbirds, compliance officers, mgt classers) wings, who believe they will get to keep their privileges, so long as they help repress, “the others”. It really is some Hunger Games madness, now. People start talking to me about that Saturday Night Live goober that dates Kardashian and has a Hillary Clinton tattoo. I gotta go. Ya know? No thanks. I challenge people to find out what the WEF-Harrai-Schwab-Bilderberg-Reset Agenda is, and they say that’s just a fake news conspiracy theory and start telling me about what tones they prefer their NPR propagandists use and which millionaire media celebrities they second hand “identify” with.  I tell ’em the Squad aint real, and they start insisting I must love Trump and Tucker Carlson and (wait for it:) “PUTIN”. I’m not the one who thinks the millionaires and billionaires are my SPECIAL SUPER SAVIOR SCIENTIST FRIENDS FROM THE FUTURE. That’s the tv believers. The whole shitshow is being manipulated by some shady billionaires, and no shady billionaires are coming to your rescue. I can not stand sniveling wealth worshippers, consensus takers, bandwagon chasers, P.C.’s, Hillarybots or Thank Obamas, see no evil brunch bunchers. Remember when Dick Cheney threatened PAUL WELLSTONE and he died in a small plane crash? No? You just remember thinking Lyn Cheney was your new, special pal since the Qshaman psy-op? You heard pig-media scream “insurrection” one million times so you think we need laws prohibiting protests we might disagree with. You might be media hoodwinked. Do you even remember there was a man named Paul Wellstone, honestly? A FOURTH AMENDMENT? A LOGAN ACT? A GENEVA CONVENTION? A BUILDING #7? Seymour Hersh-ever heard of him? Never occurred to you how JFK Jr. woulda been senator from NY had he not died in a small plane crash? So who took his place after the accident, again? Hmm. Got my pink hat on. For “diversity”, right? Only the whole Diversity Team vote just like their corporate DNC bosses, what a coincidence. In Ryan Knight’s words, “There is a fundamental misunderstanding in this country about who the Democratic party really is. The party does not exist to serve the people. It exists to stop any real movement to the left and is the GOP’s greatest ally in preserving the capitalist oligarchy. Inflation and the rising cost of living is hurting the working class and having very real consequences on families. But rather than use their majority to do something about it and reduce costs for the people, Biden & the Democrats have spent the past year making excuses. “Putin’s price hike” is Democrats latest attempt to shift the blame. The American concept of “freedom” prioritizes the rights of the privileged over the rights of the oppressed. (-Alley Valkyrie)

“The imperial machine is packed to the rafters with sniveling power worshippers of this variety, people who choose to spend their lives clawing their way up into positions of influence within the most depraved power structure on the face of this planet, demonstrating their worthiness by their continual willingness to advocate awful things no matter how reckless or stupid.

This is why the world is as it is. The systems which allocate power and wealth elevate the worst among us to the most consequential of positions, where they are then free to act out their own inner misery on the rest of humanity and keep us in a state of suffering and trauma. Nothing will get better until we change those systems.” (-Caitlin Johnstone)

You gotta wonder sometimes about the basic integrity of all the heavily propagandized privileged shitlibs begging their shitlib politicians for more anti-democratic laws against public assembly, they are just outright giddy that voices they were told they should disagree with, are being censored online, and they all mindlessly parrot this fiction that it “can’t be censorship” if “privately owned” tech monopoly platforms censor anti imperialist and anti war voices by orders of the White House. They got bamboozled by the whole Capital Hill Blue Lives Matter maga psy-op, and those Brooks Bros. recount riot alt-nazis with the tiki torches, now the establishment is coming after everyone on the left, silencing every facking principled leftist voice advocating for peace, freedom, human rights and civil liberties, they are hoodwinked into supporting the oligarchs endless war agendas and all seeing Pinkerton eye of the Tech surveillance globalist reset. Back in my day, Sonny, all The Clash Kids and even like Dead Kennedys hardcores, man, they all had “Kill Your TV” stickers on their guitar cases, now everybody is glued to fuckin’ TV, you know they are, cause they always sayin’ TV shit. I’m so old I can remember when U2 were still good guys, not just kissass rich man, pro war bankster puppets of the WEF and CFR. anybody clowning around with W Bush, Bill Clinton and Bill Gates is no friend of The People. HORRIFYING STATE CENSORSHIP BEING NORMALIZED BY THE BIG PAYCHECK SHITLIB OKEYDOKEYS

OLIVER STONE, GARLAND NIXON, SEYMOUR HERSH, PROJECT CENSORED, SIBEL EDOMONDS, COLEEN ROWLEY, MINTPRESS, ABBY MARTIN, people like that were getting kicked off platforms by the big-tech corporations. Even fucking comedians were targeted. JULIAN ASSANGE is still in jail for publishing real journalism. They locked up Craig Murray, too. John Kirakou, Ray McGovern, anyone for peace and truthful facts, on the ground reporting. So, now I’m old and kinda been shoved outta multiple neighborhoods by the evil, usual “gentrifying” forces, I see that summa that hard truth is starting to get through to some other more privileged people who always “liked” the see no evil, “vote blue no matter who” narratives. Cait Johnstone Sez:

As journalists such as Whitney Webb and Mnar Adley noted years ago, NewsGuard markets itself as a “news rating agency” designed to help people sort out good from bad sources of information online, but in reality functions as an empire-backed weapon against media that question imperial narratives about what’s happening in the world.

The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal outlined the company’s many partnerships with imperial swamp monsters such as former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and “chief propagandist” Richard Stengel as well as “imperialist cutouts like the German Marshall Fund” when its operatives contacted his outlet for comment on their accusations.

Lauria compiles a mountain of evidence in refutation of NewsGuard’s claim that Consortium News published “false content” about the 2014 U.S.-backed coup in Ukraine, copiously citing outlets which NewsGuard itself has labeled accurate sources of information with its “green check” designation system.

It becomes clear as you read the article that NewsGuard’s real function is, as John Kiriakou put it, “guarding the country from the news.”

ANTISOCIAL GLAMARCHISTS UNITE

Remember how freaked out all the bar people got during quarantine? I was not as adversely impacted personally cause I’d been social distancing since about ’97 when my ex peers were really starting to en masse more fully assimilate, but Covid clampdowns killed off the already dwindling presence of independent mom n pop shops in my part of the country. There’s still a few ripoff rich people tourist traps, but most commerce is dead here-a four day a week coffee shop, a jacked up artisanal microbrewer for outta towners, Wal Mart, and that’s it, you’ve had it. Back to Amazon, E-Bay, Net-Flix, Falsebook, ya know? Now the heat is on-100 degrees in the shade and intense wildfire smoke, kinda feels like you’re on an island, with the radio on. A smoky island. I remember that eighties MTV era BILLY IDOL promo cassette where he is being interviewed by MARTHA QUINN and saying how he wrote one of my alltime favorite songs about growing up with people and looking up to them and then the disappointment he felt when they kinda lost the plot. Man, do I ever know that feeling. Folks I used to follow around as a kid, ya know they turned into like these strangers, followers, script reciting, cult people. I know so many people with influential platforms who say nothing they think might jeopardize their insider status, and privileges of membership. People don’t even speak out for like, JULIAN ASSANGE, and shit. Or secretive billionaire control of the entire media. Laws against protest, laws against printing the truth. I had some old punks give me all kinds off shit for not subscribing to the personality cult of AOC and her meaningless justice tweets that never, ever threaten the profits of her Nancy Pelosi/Wall Street higherups. When they say absolute power corrupts absolutely, hell, I’ve seen people drop any kind of pretense of principles or leftish values for like, free booze at the sports bar. Ten percent off at the hipster record shop, selfies with replacement member of assemblylined rawk brands,  that kinda thing. Murkkkans don’t know anything about history, or what’s going on in this world unless it’s whitewash revisionism silver spoon fed to them by corporate media propagandists.

I’M HEARING MUSIC FROM ANOTHER TIME

The Manic Street Preachers visited Cuba back in the day and met Fidel, but felt like the Cuban government kinda hijacked them, assimilated their show into their government’s publicity machine, which is exactly what the big 5 mockingbird media always does in this country, the the bankster one world government reset globalists have a motto, “never waste a crisis”, or “order from chaos”, meaning they will seize any event as an excuse to pillage, plunder, steal more power for themselves, at the expense of the poor, huddled masses. Sometimes I just miss my amigos who’ve gone on to the other side or whatever, my outlaw songwriter friend Paul, really woulda loved this Big Star movie I been watching.  I devote most of my life force to parenting and relentless but invisible household chores nowadays, my wife said something about adulthood means you never never stop cleaning the kitchen, it’s just all you do. I spoke to an old chum I really missed on the telephone, he was shocked to hear my voice after twenty years. I still think it’s important to live while we are alive. Whether that means taking a walk, having a laugh, recording some tunes, drawing people’s attention to shit that matters, soaking up the sunsets, playin’ your harmonica in the French Quarter. “Get together one more time…”

AINT NO BERRIES ON THE TREES, THAT’S WHAT THE PEOPLE ARE SAYIN’…

One of the best things Strummer said, in my book, was, “forget it brother, you can go it alone”, ya know I kept waiting and waiting for people to move WITH me, who were always unbeknownst to me, makin’ moves against me, behind my back, undermining my shit. Sabotage. So I understood why Strummer dropped out for a long time-the business was a sick and evil cesspool. Joe started like having good times with the ukuleles camping out at bonfires with his actor and musician friends, gathering the firewood, pitchin’ the tents, passin’ the bottles-I think he may have even discovered some trippy pharmaceuticals like MDMA, but eventually, he reconnected with his own inner JOHNNY APPLESEED, wrote that heroic song. I think I’ve been to the real Johnny Appleseed’s grave site, but I always second guess myself about all of it now, I use to drink some, it gets hazy, mighta been a dream. I totally loved the Mescaleros, ya know when I first heard songs like “Coma Girl”, and “Arms Aloft” and “Long Shadow”, I still believed in summa my former musical collaborators back then, harbored these notions of laying down the songs I’d written, gettin’ back to where we once belonged, making provocative, heartfelt music–thought I could make a difference, maybe help tip the scales, strike tiny blows against the empire in Joe Strummer’s words, but lemee tell ya, the other kids had skipped the bonfire, they went straight to brunch with the country club crowd, became golfers and shit. You can not rock with golfers. Always such a joke to me when the biggest private school prat in crowd elitists make believe they are some kinda Clash fans, I can’t help but always wonder, like, which Clash songs THEY been listening to? Different ones than me. They obviously got a different message than I did. “I’ve been beat up, I’ve been thrown out, but I’m not down, no I’m not down…”

LET ME BE WHO I AM!

Reading that Michael Davis book, it really hurt my heart to hear about righteous White panther frontman ROB TYNER being bullied for his appearance by his bandmates. I always call him SOUL BROTHER #2! I been there though-they hate you when you’re skinny, they hate you when you’re fat, they hate you when your hair’s too long, they hate you when your hair’s too short. They hate you when you party, they hate you when you’re sober, hate you when you laugh, hate you when you weep, at some point you figure out their hatred has nothing to do with you and you do your own thing, move forward without them, go where the love is. If Rob Tyner was alive today, they’d say he lacked proper pitch or shoulda gotten his teeth fixed, you know what I mean? I LOVE Rob Tyner, just the exact way he motherfuckin was! It’s up to you, not to heed the call up
And you must not act, the way you were brought up
Who knows the reasons, why you have grown up?
Who knows the plans or why they were drawn up?

It’s up to you, not to heed the call up
I don’t wanna die
It’s up to you, not to hear the call up
I don’t wanna kill

For he who will die
Is he who will kill?
Maybe I wanna see the wheatfields
Over Kiev and down to the sea

It’s up to you, not to heed the call up
I don’t wanna die
It’s up to you, not to hear the call up
I don’t wanna kill

All the young people down the ages
They gladly marched off to die
Proud city father used to watch them
Tears in their eyes

It’s up to you, not to heed the call up
I don’t wanna die
It’s up to you, not to hear the call up
I don’t wanna kill

For he who will die
Is he who will kill?

There is a rose, that I want to live for
Although, God knows, I may not have met her
There is a dance and I should be with her
There is a town, unlike any other

It’s up to you not to hear the call up
And you must not act, the way you were brought up
Who gives you work, why should you do it?
At fifty five minutes past eleven, there is a rose

It’s up to you not to hear the call up
It’s up to you not to hear the call up
I don’t wanna die
There is a rose, that I want to live for
It’s up to you not to hear the call up

Nasty S and The Ghost Chasers “Waiting For The Last Gap Of My Generation”

Musician (SECOND RATE, HAWAII SAMURAI, BLACK ZOMBIE PROCESSION, DEMON VENDETTA, DUMBELL, SIMON CHAINSAW and many more!) and writer (Tons of fanzines and megazines (!) New Noise magazine, a book about French 80s thrash metal and one about French punk rock legendary band BURNING HEADS, etc.), Nasty Samy has been very busy these last 25 years and although he started thinking about recording a solo album years ago, the last two years weren’t really the best ones to release an album… Here it is now! This album is actually a cover album featuring a few friends and people Sam met on the road. The CD comes out with a great looking 48 page black and white booklet in which Sam tells us about each song and the reasons why he chose them among others. Nostalgia is central here but it never gets pathetic. After an intro sample of “Le Feu Follet” (Louis Malle) on a music compsed by long time friend Sylvain Bombled (SECOND RATE, MAYERLING…) you get to hear a power rock version of GUN CLUB‘s classic “Sex Beat” with Paul Smith (DUMBELL) on vocals just before “Creepy Kackalope Eye” (SUPERSUCKERS) with Patrice Fillol (NEDGEVA) on vocals. If anybody has told me about a cover album by Nasty Samy, I would have bet on a DRAMARAMA song. He chose “Work For Food” with pop punk vocals by Forest Pooky, and of course I would also have bet on MORRISSEY too since Sam is actually responsible for making me like the Moz. The chosen one here is “The Last Of The Famous International Playboys” with Francis Altrach (NOTHING MORE) doing a very good job singing it. The LEMONHEADS‘ “Rudderless” featuring Mike Begnis (SHOOT THE SINGERS) will take you straight back to the 90s and The HARD-ONS “I do, I do, I do” is one of my favourite tunes on here. Singer Wattie Delai (DEAD END) is perfect on this one. My other favourite on here is definitely SAMHAIN‘s “To Walk The Night” on which Erin Sims’ voice almost sounds like SIOUXSIE‘s. Then you get back to power rock with “The Last Goodbye” (AGENT ORANGE) featuring Simon Chainsaw on vocals and grungy powerpop with TUMBLEWEED‘s “Hang Around” with Anne Durand on vocal duties. You’ll also get some American indie punk moments with “You Fight Like A Little Girl” (PEGBOY – Paul Smith on vocals again) and “Oyster” (JAWBREAKER) with Rom Tom Cat on vocals. One of the most surprising choices on this album has to be “Shine On”, the HOUSE OF LOVE mega hit here sung with style by Ravi (BURNING HEADS.) Although Sam is a true metalhead at heart, he didn’t include any metal songs and decided to give a rock/powerpop colour to this album. On the other hand, he’s paying tribute to skate/pop punk with a DAG NASTY cover (“S.F.S”)! The record ends with a bang with an excellent THERAPY? Cover (“Nausea”) with great powerful vocals by Sylvain Bombled and a surf rock rendition of JOY DIVISION‘s classic “Transmission”. Whether you like these covers or not, you can only admit that this is a very good paylist and “a postcard sent from the past with a few comforting words written on the back…”. /Laurent C.

Girls In Synthesis “Konsumrausch” EP

British trio GIRLS IN SYNTHESIS are hard to describe, evolving somewhere between noisy rock and post-punk. Embracing the DIY ethics since 2016 the band is also more a collective than a traditional group, think CRASS for instance! This new EP is out on German label Hound Gawd Records and opens with “Pulling Teeth”, a 9 minute song with a repetitive krautrock beat and aggressive distortion. The second part of the song sounds a bit like a spoken word mixed to SUICIDE and ATARI TEENAGE RIOT. “Enveloped” brings out industrial elements to the dark party with vocals reminding a bit of PIL while “Bypassing” mixes dark techno to noisy rock in a very interesting way. Then, right after the cold and post-apocalyptic “Interlude” you’ll dive into frozen post-punk with “The Engine” which is described as “A nauseous blend of high anxiety in the modern age.” Quite a good soundtrack for today’s society! /Laurent C.

“A recent article in Politico’s Lockheed Martin-sponsored National Security Daily newsletter featured a quote from an empire think tanker who argued that the tyranny of Saudi Arabia’s murderous crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) can be tempered by sending him to seminars.

In “Saudi Arabia shows Biden can’t have it all,” Politico describes an entirely imaginary conflict of presidential interests between a sincere desire to prioritize humanitarian concerns in Saudi Arabia and a need to maintain warm relations with Riyadh to keep oil prices low amid Washington’s economic war against Moscow. I say entirely imaginary because of course the US would happily turn a blind eye to Saudi royals using babies for skeet shooting as long as they continued to advance US fossil fuel interests.

The article features all the usual mundane empire apologia you’d expect from a mainstream publication that is funded by war profiteers (the newsletter was sponsored by Northrop Grumman before Lockheed Martin), but one part stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of sheer foam-brained idiocy. Arguing that the US can advance both its fossil fuel interests and its super important humanitarian concerns, a denizen of the imperial hivemind named Kirsten Fontenrose is cited in the following text (emphasis mine):

Using Saudi Arabia to lower gas prices and secure geopolitical gains doesn’t have to be divorced from human rights promotion if the U.S. molds the wayward crown prince into a moral king.

“Shaping young leaders into the types of decision makers America would like as partners takes mentoring, monitoring and shaping,” said KIRSTEN FONTENROSE, a former top Middle East official on Trump’s National Security Council. “There is no reason we can’t establish something akin to a private seminar series for MBS and the inner circle as well as other young leaders in the Gulf or elsewhere around the globe.”

This quote belongs in a museum somewhere. Seen a lot of bad policy proposals but few match this combination of arrogance (America must teach foreign heads of state how to do their jobs) and futility (as if they’d even attend, let alone be “shaped” by it) https://t.co/5lw6nHJq0g pic.twitter.com/QSpG9XsJXn

— Gregg Carlstrom (@glcarlstrom) June 5, 2022

So in Fontenrose’s empire-addled brain, the US can simply provide private seminars for not just MBS but other foreign leaders as well, teaching them not to do atrocities and war crimes. And this will reconcile the glaring dissonance between what the US government says it values and what it actually does.

That’s the kind of thinking that gets you made into a top national security advisor in the government with the most powerful military force ever assembled. Indeed, that’s the kind of thinking that runs the empire.

Fontenrose is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, a NATO-entrenched think tank that is funded by government entities, the military-industrial complex, fossil fuel companies and plutocrats. When questioned by The American Prospect last year about the fact that the Atlantic Council has received millions from Gulf state monarchies, Fontenrose responded, “Every think tank in Washington gets money from Middle East governments.”

This is true. Generally speaking, think tanks are institutions wherein academics are paid by the worst people in the world to come up with intelligent-sounding reasons why it would be good and smart to do something evil and stupid. Those narratives are then inserted at key points of influence before decision makers and the public, where they are used to help make the world a worse place to live.

AVOIDING ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY: THE BLOB EDITION – brought to us by @mideastXmidwest & Kirsten Fontenrose

1.) Work for the Atlantic Council, a think tank that receives $1m+ from close Saudi ally UAE & $$$ from UAE state run entities. https://t.co/fXzJ35kg1H [THREAD] pic.twitter.com/sv2NvZcl8t

— Eli Clifton (@EliClifton) March 22, 2021

This is not the sort of dynamic which lends itself to lucid thinking. Fontenrose’s Atlantic Council bio reads like a recipe for turning a human brain into a cog in the imperial machine: from Harvard to the National Council on US-Arab Relations, to “building relationships with military officers and diplomats from the Middle East and South Asia for the Near East Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University,” to positions in the Pentagon and State Department, to Senior Director for the Gulf at the Trump administration’s National Security Council, and then on to the Atlantic Council.

And at the Atlantic Council she shall wait, spewing imperial mouth farts and earning handsome paychecks, until it’s time for the revolving door of the Beltway swamp to usher her back into a government position again.

These are the kind of people who run the world. The imperial machine is packed to the rafters with sniveling power worshippers of this variety, people who choose to spend their lives clawing their way up into positions of influence within the most depraved power structure on the face of this planet, demonstrating their worthiness by their continual willingness to advocate awful things no matter how reckless or stupid.

This is why the world is as it is. The systems which allocate power and wealth elevate the worst among us to the most consequential of positions, where they are then free to act out their own inner misery on the rest of humanity and keep us in a state of suffering and trauma. Nothing will get better until we change those systems.” (-Cait Johnstone)

“So another left journalist with Black Agenda Report & writer, Danny Haiphone is being suspended from twitter. It is getting to a point where this is becoming normal.” (-Ajamu Baraka)

“Zelensky told Newsmax this week that 60 to 100 Ukrainian soldiers are killed and 500 are wounded every day. This staggering human toll is the price of his ticket to Cannes, Davos, the Grammys, and a post-presidency golden parachute. Once he negotiates for peace, the gig’s up.” (-Max Blumenthal)

“Independent journalist Danny Haiphong has been suspended from Twitter. Censoring excellent journalists is the last resort of an empire that relies on propaganda to keep its people from rebelling against the sociopaths at the top.” (-Lee Camp)

“If I were in D.C I would be right there. Why are there like two journalists covering this? Shame. These are the fascists hiding in this country.” (-Fiorella Isabel from the Convo Couch regarding so few self proclaimed “journalists” reporting on shady Bilderberg and WEF Great reset agendas)

CHECKERED PAST

I grew up in the flyover states but could never wait to get the fuck out and always regretted it whenever I went back to visit, man. For the past twenty years, I even skip funerals. I avoid evil people, places, and things.  Even on days when I got nothing to do, nowhere to go, no money, it’s triple digit heat barin’ down on me and most of my most cherished loved ones are estranged or long long gone, I still wake up everyday thanking the God of my understanding that at least I ain’t in the white baseball capped, drive through brainwash states where they manufacture the dumbfuck fuckin’ future rent-a-kkkip fratboys. I remember being like twelve years old and loving that Talking Heads song about the midwest “The Big Country” because the lyrics: “I wouldn’t live there if you paid me to.” People who stay there are insane, to me. No, really, like you can’t even talk to ’em. They really do actually sit around and watch tv shows like “COPS” and “Coach” and “Frazier” and “Seinfeld” and “Friends”. Their dads all love Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity and they all wanna be white truck washin’, patio grillin’ racist old curmudgeons like their FOX watching golfer dads. One of the only real kool bands that came outta that part of the country was BOYS FROM NOWHERE. How good is this shit? Play this loud! That vocalist Mick Divvens had the kindof rocknroll voice I have always loved. The kind that Amerikkkan Idol and normie types have always hated.

I’m not usually that wild about covers, this is like the best I’ve heard that wasn’t Andy McCoy:

Another great related  band that never got enough credit were BARBED WIRE DOLLS, one of the only wild and dangerous punkroll bands to come from that part of the country in that era. Never mind the chick in the hotpants who stole the name. This is the real thing. One of my ex bandmates also played with the vocalist in some other group he had, and one of my old drinking buddies, a now famous radio DJ co produced one of their 45’s. I dunno about you, but I love this kinda music, you can hear the Smack influence.

When I was living in the Bowery, I was by myself all the time while my grownup roommates had jobs. I remember listening to the NYC radio station Howard Stern was on, circa ’84, and how they played Bon Jovi, all the time. I was never a fan, but begrudgingly thought “Runaway” and “She Don’t Know Me” were okay, at that age, cause, well, I was a runaway and felt like “she” did not see me. “Like I loved her.” So yeah that Alec John Such guy dying kinda did affect me today, just ’cause man, that band were like THE only band back then, at their peak, they seemed huger than all the other plastic metal bands put together. Dunno what else I can say about that, aside from remembering how Bon Jovi owned MTV and the magazines and walls of all my teenage girlfriends bedrooms, aside from a precious two or three who, like me, preferred Morrissey and Duran Duran. I do remember being about seventeen and hanging out at a hamburger joint called Happy Daze when I liked an older girl with a great smile named Gina, across the street from the biker tattoo parlor that was my sanctuary as a teen when that fuckin’ “Livin’ On A Prayer” song was on the radio, non stop. It was seemingly always snowy outside and I had a girlfriend back then named Heather who had a big gigantic warm house but her parents sortof hated me, but she sometimes would sneak me indoors through a window into her heated basement. I sure do miss those days, of listening to Depeche Mode with her, sometimes-that city tore her old house down, oh man, it’s all disappearing now. She was a real cool chick I did not treat as well as she deserved. She naturally became kinda jealous because of my infidelities and could always figure out where me and my guitar playing best friend were because of our cowboy boot tracks in the snow. ‘Round that time I was living in an unheated attic above a friend’s mom’s garage, but an older punk dude finally helped me get my first apartment. One of the loves of my young life, this other chick who was always just unattainable, helped me paint it purple and she used to come visit me there and I got to shelter my rocknroll mentor from the hippie record store, when his parents and dog died and he was evicted by the banks. We had a lot of fun, drinking cheap champagne and beer and making mixtapes there. So yeah. Formed some bands there, wrote some songs, sheltered lost souls, had a million fuckin’ laughs. My cool as fuck acidhead roommate used to trip his head off and endup running around naked in tha bank parking lot below. Man do I ever miss that dude. Everyday, L.A.M.F.!

Two ladies not actually named named Becky and Sally were really into Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Cheap Trick. They managed the National Record Mart record store in the mall. I got along really well with Becky’s boyfriend, Floyd, a mullted local musician who played corny covers at happy hours and Italian restaurants owned by my childhood friend, Joey V.’s family, Floyd reminded me of say, Richard Marx. Nice Guy. First dude who I ever saw use like a drum machine and sing and accompany himself on guitar while people ate dinner. Those ladies hired every preppie guy in town with a Bon Jovi perm, except the deedly Judas Priest cover band guitar hero who worshipped Paul Shortino and liked beating up smaller people. He was the local popularity, bully Karate Kid suburban guitar gawd, but the thirty something, NMR  ladies also loved every kid with that kind of boofy Bon Jovi hair, so they hired all of ’em, like I said, they only missed one with the boofy Bon Jovi perm. They always claimed they just could not hire me to work in the mall, because of corporate dress codes regarding long hair, but the truth was, I was just too new wave, gawky, pale, Stiv Bators or Joey Ramone-like, they did not think I was conventionally good enough looking. It ain’t like I didn’t know everything about music. I needed the job, too, cause I had a kid. So, yeah, they didn’t like me enough to give me a fucking job and that was one of the reasons I knew I’d have to leave that town, if I ever expected to fuckin even get by, in life. I was about 18 when I ended up at those old lady’s new year’s eve party, I guess I was kinda suckin’ up to ’em, hoping they’d hook me up with an income stream. If you were an unemployed male in that town, the nagging and putdowns never, never ceased. “Is he on the clock or off the clock” is all the suburbans ever wanna know. ‘Found myself talkin’ to some older guy, who’d taken most of my girlfriend’s virginity named Mike. He was the “Simon” in my close brother Bobby’s Duran Duran tribute lip synch act. His younger brother went to my school and wore many Swatch watches, and hung around with my homie, Jaysin B. I started guzzling some Maker’s Mark and ended up getting sidetracked while fooling around and socializing with all these older people when suddenly, I remembered, I was supposed to be meeting my one true fine, first love, muse, inspiration, advisor, confidante back at my downtown purple apartment, so I rushed into the living room and demanded my heavy metal girlfriend, Susie the Metallica cover band bassist, drive me home, before midnight. By the time I arrived, and rushed up the stairs, and ran down the darkened hallway where the lightbulb had blown out, oh my god, I could not believe it, there she was, alone and crumpled up in that back hallway in front of my door-the prettiest girl who ever lived, the blinding genius of my young life, man, I was gobsmacked, did not know what to say, except sorry. She did not dig the cigarette smoke or hardwood floor lack of furniture, it was a humble little one bedroom apartment in a downtown tenement full of druggies and all I had was some used furniture, a boombox, The Psychedelic Furs “Mirror Moves”, some beer and a leather jacket and shit but man, I just loved, loved, loved her, I mean, this was the one I’d been foolishly, ridiculously, passionately, sincerely, devotedly, wholeheartedly in love with, since we were about 13 and 14. She gave me some purple candles and regifted me with a Jim Morrison book, “Wilderness” for my birthday and Christmas that year. Or maybe she pre loaned it out to some other dude previously. I knew some other male had perused it cause he had left an index card in that book she wrapped in purple tissue paper that said, “don’t go to war with yourself like this guy did.”, and ya know I thought to myself, as much as I loved her all through the years, she always seemed to prefer like, lifeguard type of guys. Who, apparently, did not go to war inside themselves, like me and Jim Morrison did. You know that Leonard Cohen lyric, “she told me again she preferred handsome men, but for me, she would make an exception”? We stayed friends for years and she def. made a mark on my memory. Good soul. I just couldn’t make her mine. Even when we were shy little misfit Smiths fans together at 13 and 14, I’d be sitting on her couch listening to her talk about old King or Sting lyrics, Arcadia and Dream Academy and shit, and the doorbell would keep ringing-with all the neighborhood boys wanting her attentions. She’s happily married with a teenage kid now but I bet the doorbell has never stopped ringing.  God bless her and her family!

“If you think that a party that sues to kick third parties off ballots, rigs its own primaries, and governs for Wall Street believes in “democracy” then you are an easy mark and useful idiot for the oligarchy. The Democrats are not an ally to anyone except their wealthy donors. The Democrats and their sycophants have some nerve to think that after doing nothing with their majority to help the people that they can continue to berate, bully, and scare people into voting for their corrupt corporate party.” (-Ryan Knight)

IT’S ONLY LOVE

Man, I used to booze it up with summa these guys at the still skuzzy and dangerous RAT in my early twenties. I’d always run into the guitarist at a nightclub called Bunratty’s and he’d be hanging out with a drummer named Jesse and they’d always say we were gonna start a band together, but it never really got passed the passing out on my couch stage. I really liked the guitarist, Mark, he had a lot of style and good humor. Fun person to be around! He was like a genuine Thunders/Richards/Pinter/Drake kind of guitarist. Always looked so cool in his dirty white leather and winklepickers. Him and the vocalist Jamie of this amazingly perfect rocknroll band who shoulda been big stars way back in the Hanoi Rocks days, even wrote a song that caught Alice Cooper‘s ear and helped regenerate his career. It’s so fuckedup getting old like this, cause this is still my kinda rocknroll, ya know, I still put out a musicians wanted ad on music store bulletin boards a couple times a year, forever looking for cool cats who understand the Stones and Dolls and Aerosmith and Joneses punk, they just get harder and harder to find. Listen to this fucking great record and try to tell me they aint the best thing you’ve heard in a long time. These dudes had so much rockstar potential. The leatherclad heart throb singer Jamie was in some other bands who were also real cool-the Jetsons from the midwest, and also the Fighting Cocks in Boston. Their lp on Throbbing Lobster is nearly impossible to find but I think Simon Ritt the fabulously cool bassplayer on this still has a box of ’em in his basement. I really miss pre gentrification, dirty old Boston, they still had the best dive bars in the world and four used record stores and an allnight diner on every fuckin’ corner.

“Thirty or forty years ago, supporting free speech was understood to be a non-negotiable core value of the liberal left. As a lifetime liberal it’s unbelievably depressing to see how completely Democrats have betrayed us on this issue. The average Dem is no better than Falwell or Helms on this issue now.” (-Matt Taibbi, Author of GRIFTOPIA, THE DIVIDE, THE BUSINESS SECRETS OF DRUG DEALING, and HATE INC. Podcast, Useful Idiots: http://UsefulIdiots.Substack.Com on mass censorship and erosion of free speech under Davos reset orders.)

“It’s yet another indictment of the American media system that a popular, bankable media figure like Ventura has essentially been squeezed out of the mainstream media landscape. At the same time, his arrival is yet another gain for Substack, and I don’t just say that because Predator was awesome. I’ve heard criticism of Jesse from various Washington-based pundit types who denounce him as a joke and an unserious person, pointing to TruTV episodes about the Bilderbergs or Reptile-People (“Lizard-like shape shifting humanoids: are they real?”). To which I always shrug and reply, “Yeah, but does your party take money from Goldman and Raytheon?” What would you rather have, an honest wrestler or a polished sellout?” (-Matt Taibbi on Jesse Ventura who thinks John Lennon was assassinated by MK Ultra patsy)

COLLEGE GRADUATES SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO FEEL IKKY

Man, I first started seeing the establishment manufacturing consent for the ballsout, no mistake about it, brazen koddled Klass kkkop persecution of the poor in a notoriously rightwing racist city in the midwest. Some preppie teenage black kid had been waiting for a bus and the kkops showed up and hassled him for no reason-he was overconfident about his rights because as an honor roll student he had dutifully learned the script about freedom and due process, but when some racist authoritarians decided to fuck him up anyway knocking him over some planter backwards and spraying him in the face pointblank with mace for a longass time while he was handcuffed and it was captured on video, the whole system went into overdrive to make believe it was somehow okeydokey. They said he had not been compliant enough. Scumbag rightwing talk radio guys talked shit about the kid like he was some demon all night and day, and a fucking judge even sent him to some fuckedup bootcamp like he was some kinda badguy, fact was the Man had got caught fucking people up for no reason, so then they had to like double down on their bullshit authoritarianism. I looked for the video of the incident on youtube but it was wiped. Koo-koo. Just a couple years later, another black teenager had some warrants for petty bullshit charges like failure to appear, seatbelts and tinted windows, and a hardon kkkop shot him the back. Killed ’em dead in ten years that city had extrajudicially assassinated TWENTYFIVE mostly unarmed black folks, some with disabilities and shit, so the community rebelled and broke windows and protested so gentrification weasel Mayor Headroom called in fuckin tanks and declared curfew and did not enforce it in republikkkan neighborhoods where white rich fat people bars stayed open, boozing it up and crowd singing Neil Diamond songs. That guy smirking Mayor Headroom still smugly pats himself on the back about helping usher in a gentrification era where rich white people have displaced poor black people. Overpriced condos galore. Shakedown kkkops in stormtrooper armor. I moved to a poor neighborhood that was bourgeoise honkifying a couple years later and was wide awake late night talking one night cause my baby mama had arbitrarily decided to come take my kids who were supposed to be spending the night and bond them to her crunchy granola new yuppie boyfriend. We heard 8 gunshots in the alley and THEN, kkkops yelled “drop your weapon”. Story on media the next day was he was coming towards kkkops with a weapon, but in real life, he was running away from them, shot in the back, no one cared. No one even wanted to know-me and my girlfriend are fuckin traumatized-kkkops killed a mf in the alleyway. Other white people just like, shrugged. I was telling everybody I encountered about it-musicians and scenesters, another ex girlfriend was dating a dude from a famous band with a dead singer, his nickname was The Spooge and he was telling me how I looked homeless while I was trying to tell her about the kkkops killing somebody in my alley outside where my kids came to visit, but no one cared. Basically, all the grungy music scene white people were all totally gung ho happy with the racial profiling and stop and frisk broken window theory policing, totally complicit in the gentrifying. They just wanted to get rid of ikky poor people so they could have mimosas and talk about the shit they own or how they are somehow fourth hand famous cause some band got signed a long, long time ago. Couple years after that, kkkops killed a white drummer kid with tattoos and a knife who was a hipster popular guy and FINALLY the white side of town rose up and complained-marches-jazz funeral, murals, memorial gardens, sculptures, speeches, tearful protests and permanently ongoing pearl clutching, hand wringing, finally concerned online tributes, a whole city of posh whiteys were social justice activated, but only over their one celebrity-here’s more weeping, more jazz funerals, more memory gardens, the whole bit. Nobody minded killer kkkops at all-at all-at ALL, until it was a hipster white kid. Who by all accounts had a weapon. To me, the whole fucking world is an upside down whackadoodle-doo KKKrazy town. All the tech platform execs, Kissinger, Gates, shady occultist WEF tyrants, Pfizer execs, and Deathstar military industrial complex CEO’s are planning some bad shit and they ain’t tellin’ you about it. But by all means tell me more about Amanda Heard and Will Smith and shit.

WHERE EVERY PEDESTRIAN IS A SUSPECT

So then, I followed my ex to the booj Northwest to stay near my kids and could not believe the kindly, karing, karens of city hall thought it was just okeydokey to declare an “exclusion zone”, in their OWN WORDS, that’s what they called the trendy downtown neighborhood where sports tourist hotels and rich lawyers wanted to push all the poor people out of view of visiting college parents. The Occupy community protested and broke the no camping ordinance in solidarity with 3000 men, women and children of gentrified sports tourism Honkytopia who had fallen into houselessness, cause all the shameless fuckin landlords were jacking rents up to two grand a month or just flipping their ranch style homes into Airabndb’s so they changed laws and shit and banned people from demonstrating in Free Speech Plaza. I’ll say that again. They changed laws and banned people from demonstrating in FREE SPECH PLAZA.  Painted a single parking space that said “free speech zone” in a nearby parking lot. Some evil bureaucrat declared it a health emergency hyping some kinda hopped up fiction about human feces being found in the plaza, a “Poop Fiction”, and that freaked out all the yuppie home owners and landlord classers who never liked having to lay eyes on unsightly homeless people or panhandlers outside of Trader Joe’s. The town spent tens of thousands putting big sharp rocks beneath underpasses, hiring ex jock hardon gestapo and Wackenhut mercenaries to hassle poor people at the bus station, started locking all the park restrooms, year round, stopping and frisking kids with backpacks on the corner, it was all so fucked up, wrong and evil, and the mean ex liberal Mayor and her nauseatingly insincere wine n cheese party yuppie friends all rationalized that this fucking brazen war against the poor was all somehow feminist and ceramic and vegan and okeydokey if they got women of color to participate in crusades against the poor. Obama and the Clintons had turned the Democrats into rightwing conservatives and corporate media convinced middle class people that as long as there were some token women and people of color presiding over the oppression of the poor, it was all kumbaya and copacetic. Just don’t say bad words, and obey their narrative mangers. They really do seem to believe in their holes where hearts are supposed to be that middle class college people’s self importance and the rights of their booj companion pets was all that mattered, you know-s’long as self aggrandizing middle class college people felt woke and unoffended, fuck the poor-ya know? So that’s where all the shitlibs seemed to come from-the pro war, gentrified, “educated”, rightwing Democrat, P.C. sensitivity-studies, safe space children of Hillary and Obama. Pig-media convinced all those safe space motherfuckers that no egalitarian principles or Bill Of Rights civil liberties mattered-only tokenist high visibility hue and gender, and ultimately, class. Truth was no longer important-just like, surface images, appearances, feelgood bumper stickers and feelings of rich people. Vibrant and diverse human rights city, they said-as long as you were a college educated home owner. I kinda doubt if you watched any of the videos from WEF but basically Scwhab’s puppets are all insisting the mass censorship USA techlords have been engaging in is not enough and that the Reset Billionaires want even more thought control and LESS free speech. So many people I grew up with have been college and media programmed to worship the billionaires and wanna put always more military grade weapons in the hands of the already insanely milittarized bastshit crazy racist kkkops, and more narrative control in the hands of just 5 corrupt monopoly media companies. It’s terrifying, how they went to school for fucking twenty five years and all they learned was white middle class property owners deserve more respect and FOX NEWS is the only channel that ever, ever lies for the powerful shareholders who sponsor them. Any shitlib who is not a free speech absolutist is no friend of mine. I do not stand with the corporate propagandists, war criminals, weapons manufacturing forever war profiteers, prison lobbyists, Lyn Cheney, mass murderers, surveillance tech billionaires, or kidnappers of whistleblower journalists, and you should not, either. FREE ASSANGE!

If you are having trouble coping with all the fuckedup fascist police state rollouts and blinding wildfire smoke and 102 degree heatwave, maybe some rocknroll music might help ya remember “freedom”. FRANCHISE CLONES OF CRACKERVILLE, USA! USA!

“All I need is a pint a day…”

Every significant sized Murkkkan town’s the same now-empty downtowns, super extravagant posh hotels and condos and designer boutiques for the rich, robokkkop shakedowns and violence and exile and jail and death and ripoff Wal Mart price gouging for the poor. Middle class people all wanna be Judge Dredd kkkop “deciders”, they all just love the feckin kkkops, got 911 on speed dial as their go-to conflict resolution strategy, all the shitlib AOC lovin’ CNN watchin’ Rachel Maddow trustin’ gatekeepers, almost every college person became a shitlib kall the kkkkops karen or brand building, vanity merch pimping, pay to play faux “populars”. One thing I never could stand about the ongoing Brooklynization of every mid-sized college town is how the elites use the arts as a weapon against the poor. You mighta seen that meme about how when you see people wearing a Joy Division t shirt in your neighborhood, rents are about to go up. That is no joke. You ever seen some hipster owners put like, pictures of old drunk blues singers all over the front of their store, but obliviously wage non stop relentless outright war against street people? Ever seen a hipster record store that did not ripoff down on their luck rocknroll people? ‘Heard the hipsters talk about “needing” more hip-hop influenced murals on the side of their healthfood stores painted by rich white grad students, who think they can imitate-become Basquiat? Rich people art is always, always so unimaginatively, sadly derivative of some poor person who died in the gutter, ya know? I remember the beginning stages of the Anti-Rock Conspiracy before live music died when 900+ sports fans would still crowd into some gimmick bar to watch the local richies impersonate famous “Alternative”TM bands from Seattle. It got tedious having to listen to all these shite glorified coverbands. While visiting family, I had taken a job at a horrible grunge bar, worked the backdoor for about a year. Mediocre Alice In Chains/KORN wannabes, Pussywillows, will still be ruling the roost in Crackerville when they are in their nineties jes cause shitty grunge imitators and wretched whiteboy rappers never went outta style in Crackerville and they went to school with all the people who stayed in their rich parent’s zipcode and inherited all the businesses and liquor licenses. The Najinski 5 got signed by a hipster label on the strength of their covers nobody recognized as covers, so they had to overnight write some crap originals, but after they’d duped the hipster label, covering some disreputable, lonesome troubadour, dead cowboy’s tunes, they had to double-down on the big bluff and the guitarist quit cause he’d met a pretty girl, and he was the one with the talent who could play rare old Motown tunes and an unknown songwriters stuff those blowhard other guys traded on. They had a rich parental benefactor and a famous DJ friend and still became famous for their cheek, their front-shameless crooning bullshit slow songs featuring naughty language. Total hammy shtick. The Scuzzbuckets did a passable tribute to fuckin Hole, Babes In Toyland or Sonic Youth-unattractive people making a dissonant racket. Goosey Lucy co starred a bashful nerd with Hello Kitty barrettes in his hair and two chicks who couldn’t play, they did a cutesy Shaggs shtick everybody loved and linedup for cause the girls were pretty. You had the Hoo Haw Gang in their shorts and football jersies doing all the palsied Beastie Boys hand gesturing, obviously imitating Ugly Kid Joe or Faith No More. The Eebie-Geebies impersonating Pearl Jam and the Chili Peppers, with all the big amps and nice gear and Doc Martins and goatees galore. Fat Face, who did some kinda experimental shtick with trombones and violins and bullhorns, thought they were being arty: like Kurt Cobain. The Silver Studs were there in Loreal blue/black hair imitating Green River and Mudhoney. The Periwinkles wanted to be The Pastels or Posies or some shit but could never really write any memorable songs so they compensated by going to the thrift store every single day and loading up on all the Herb Tarlick from WKRP tacky suitjackets from the seventies and that was supposed to make them good. Poor people were always muscled out of the grunge bar by hockey player oversized bouncers who just grew their hair out cause Soundgarden. Sadists and ex sportos became blank check celebs for having cred in the money generating realm by exploiting this whole “Alternative”TM hoax. The barstool in crowd permanently applauded the local gentry movers and shakers who dealt white people drugs on the sly and got off on pepper spraying drunks and shit at the bars that made sure the working class zeroes were silenced and excluded by the richer hipsters, it was just like middle school, the worst middle school in the world, and if you online look-in on anybody from that whole “SEEN”, nothing changed 25 years later. Dudes all have less hair, but that’s it. Same five cokedout, self congratulating faces are still highfive podcasting, interviewing their old “Alternative”TM colleagues from rich school, and owning every Saturday Night Forever, cause their parents said they could. Here’s your business, here’s your record company, here’s your mama mansion for the Less Than zero swimming pool partying, here’s your second rental property, here’s your coke mirror in the corner office. Some doofus, aged-out nerd, old coverband music store guy we’ll call Billy F. was bartending at the grunge bar and like, lost his mind, did this whole meltdown, just carried on like a hysterical PMRC Washington wife cause he saw a gutter punk friend of mine freshen his drink with a pint in the bathroom. I mean this guy fucking lost his shit over that. “We could lose our liquor license! We could lose our liquor license! We could lose our liquor license! We could lose our liquor license!” Say it again, Billy F.! Say your thing, man. I mean this dude just carried on and on about it. He wanted a whole investigation and supposedly was just so flummoxed and outraged and offended, he was like running around with his head cutoff for hours. Narc’ing non stop to all the busy co workers. That’s the level of cool that was ever achieved at that place. The richies could deal drugs openly all day and night, right outta the back room as local worshipped superstar celebrities, but a gutter punk has a pint, holy shit! Call in the national guard. So yeah, it was me who let the gutter punk in, and the snitch ratfink nutbag got me fired for it. His real agenda was to push me outta the bar, cause even though summa these business owners were like twenty years older than the college age girls they hit on, everybody thought that was proper and acceptable if they owned businesses. They just could not abide with a gutter punk who couldn’t afford their jackedup drink prices having a pint of his own. Or a dude who was not part of their hometown clique having a job watching their goofy bullshit from the back wall that’s willing to let a gutter punk from the dive bar down the street who can’t pay the cover charge in the back door for free. Half the town got in for free at the front door, just not gutter punks.

“Alternative”TM turned collegetowns into generic and elitist fucking country clubs for predator class trust fund babies with elaborate collections of vintage gear and fancy shamancy recording studios. Not my jam, yo. They turned underground music into sports, or McDonalds. I never even thought Nirvana were very good. “Grandma take me home, Grandma take me home” was like any Happy Flowers or Killdozer song on some No Trend college rock compilation, we already had The Pixies. So like 10,O00 fake Nirvanas featuring the asskisser student council and bully quarterback from your hometown sports high school was just redundant and trite as all fuck. Simon Cowell changed music into sports. TV is one helluva drug. People still swear to me they like the Fucking Foo Fighters. I always think they must be kidding. Foo Fighters make Green Day look almost, like, uh, semi nearly kinda okay. UGH! I hated all that shit-they really did “break” punk, didn’t they? They didn’t want people cultivating one another’s critical thinking skills. They want us all competing like the Hunger games for crumbs of nothing. Your college friends say they live in a “DEMOCRACY” and suckup to evil oligarchs who meet in secret.

SLOW MOTORCADE WE ARE THE UNION OF ONE

When I was growing up, I loved bands like Lords Of The New Church, The Clash and The Godfathers-you know, bands that weren’t stupid. I also loved melodies and pop songwriting and these dudes from the Hollywood supergroup deserved to become a lot more famous and popular than they did. If you know who the purplehaired Zeros are, it was Joe Normal on guitar, John Napier on the John Waite/Robin Zander style vocals, Derrick from The Andersons and Bangles on bass, Tom from Big Elf on drums, and Anthony on perfect hair and cool shoes and the world’s only BETTY PAGE autographed guitar! They don’t make bands like that no more, I suspect cause it’s so hard to even pay for fucking practice spaces nowadays, the little record labels and Murkkkan rock press are all gone, and the evil elites have dumbed everyone down for 25 years. Do you remember when bands had talent, style, and anthemic songs with thoughtful lyrics? Veglam remembers!
